But it has USB-C, so you can use USB-C headphones or one of the many dongle adapters.

So use any of the ~10$ USB-C to headphone dongles with your favorite headphones. For example the Apple or Google adapters work fine.

USB-C for devices sure, but headphones could co-exist with the 3.5 jack.

Because you can use a USB c adapter if you still want to use wired headphones

No, but can't you use a USB-C earphone?

A headphone converter dongle that plugs into the usb connection is also an option.

You know there are:

- usb C headphones

- Lightning headphones

- lightning to Audio adapters

Or use USB-C headphones

What about usb-c headphones?

Then don't buy this phone. Headphones will soon all be either wireless or use USB C or lighting anyway. And if there are headphones that do not, use an adapter.

It's not like the old headphones can't be used without a headphone jack. The 3.5mm-to-lightning or 3.5mm-to-usb-c dongles are small and relatively cheap. I just keep mine hooked up to my wired headphones.

They do sell a USB-C to headphone jack adapter. I got one, barely ever use it.

You can buy a cheap dongle to plug your headphones into the USB-C port. It works fine, but now you have the problem of keeping track of the dongle when they kids unplug it.

The headphones also work over a USB-C cable.

Or at least without USB-C: at least then I can use the same headphones on my laptop, iPad Pro, and phone.

I am always confused about posts like these. iPhone 7 comes with lighting headphones. Why can't you use those? No dongle required.

USB-C headphones are either free and desperately shit or a very expensive mic+headset arrangement, not simply "headphones".

And adaptors are universally unreliable. The one my samsung phone came with works with literally NOTHING else, and the 4 or 5 I've bought have connection issues.

Also if you care about audio it's another slap in the face as the DACs in those adaptors are pretty high-noise.

I've tried really hard to understand the outrage of not having a 3.5 mm headphone jack. I have Bose wired headphones and just use a dongle on the plane with my phone and tablet. My Laptop does have a jack, but it would be no big deal to use a dongle. I guess I'm just not an audiophile, but I doubt that many people are.

+1 to 8 USB-Cs!

Apple's USB-C to headphone dongle works on Android, I believe, and is regularly reviewed to have the same audio quality as comparably expensive DACs. It's $9

The USB adapter has a headphone jack so I plug my Samsung headphones into that.
