1. Not true, I see at least 2 [0] [1]

2. Even if it was true, welcome to not being included for once in your entire life. Now maybe you can start to begin to understand what others have experienced basically every day of their life.

1) There is almost always a pretty good reason why things are the way they are in spite of what it seems.

2) There is almost always a pretty good reason why people do what they do in spite of what it seems.

3) Everyone else is not at idiot in spite of what I think.

4) I'm no better than anyone else in spite of what I secretly believe.

Actually, the lack of appreciation of these truths is widespread across age. It's just that older people tend to be a little more patient and can more easily deal with their frustrations.

1). Its none of your business what other people think.

2). Everyone is just winging it.

3). Life is subject to change without notice.

(1) you don't know me

(2) I actually was, but decided not to, what you believe is not in any way material to that.

This is a first for HN actually, someone telling me they know me better than I know myself. Incredible.

1. Yes, I admit, I don't know everything. My old self admittedly knows less than my present self (the post was written 4 years ago), who most likely, I hope, knows less than my future self. I posted the link in the hope that others may find it valuable to see how such a bug might manifest itself.

2. The post was written in an exploratory tone, not a factual, "here are the facts, here's how to solve this problem across all scenarios" tone.

Thanks for your feedback.

1) I've learned that I'm NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. Furthermore, I'm almost all the time don't right.

2) I've understood that I absolutely know NOTHING.

... 20 age man.

A. I made that inference based on the framing of the remark, not based on straight up stupidity.

B. Plenty of people here know plenty about my circumstances. I know because they routinely use that against me.

So it is not unreasonable on my part to assume some people here do have some idea who I am and what I'm about. I was, in fact, very recently told I'm full of shit if I assume they don't: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19776469

1. So literally this doesn't apply to you.

2. Not going to help.

1) [citation needed]

2) You're not exactly coming out of this looking like a saint, you know.

1. I do not remember who said this: "Remember the bad days when going is good and remember the good days when going is bad"

2. "This too shall pass", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_too_shall_pass Nothing is permanent, the good days and the bad days

1 - I have no specific information

2 - just because you didn't share doesn't mean your friends didn't

1. X isn't happening

2. X may be happening, but you're overreacting

3. Sure, X happened, but let me tell you why it's a good thing

1. Accept that you don't currently know. Things might change.

2. Per (1), this might not be true. You don't know the meaning now, but things might change.

3. Personally, I plan to (I hope) check out once things get too bad.

I second p0d's mention of Ecclesiastes. Beyond that, "life is but a dream".

1. I'm not.

2. Do you really think that's an appropriate comment?

1) Ignorance is bliss

2) You learn something new every day

? Every day you have less bliss

1. Wow a thing, people seem to be excited about it.

2. Are people excited about my thing? Am I excited about it?

3. Have I made the wrong life choices?

4. This makes me feel uncomfortable.

5. If I can defend my life choices I can feel good again.

6. I will downplay this thing, that will resolve my uncomfortable feelings.

1) Either life in the modern world has become more and more unpredictable, and/or it was always less predictable than I used to be aware of.

2) The trouble with 'living in the now' is that eventually tomorrow will become now. Sufficient preparation for -that- now is not a strong suit for many of us. Consequently, humanity has built an existential debt which mere bankruptcy cannot erase. GOTO 1).

1. I do not like thinking about how badly they smelled.

2. I am very much enjoying OhLife's ability to make me write about my day, and this gives me a standard to shoot for.

Saturday, 17 September 1994, 2pm. If I hear someone imitate Beavis and Butthead one more time...

3. I've got bad news, Bea- I mean, Jamie.

1/2) “Just because you are right does not mean I am wrong”

There is a meme gif that sums this up perfectly

The gif in question has two figures discussing a 6 on the ground which is 6 from one person’s perspective and 9 from the other person’s perspective.

2/2) “I never make predictions, especially about the future” aka Acceptable choices at the time

If you did good work, and operated with as many of the facts that you had at the time, then that is a great outcome.

Not all the facts are known. Even when all the facts are known the choices may be a coin toss. Do not beat yourself up if a choice did not work out

1. What matters is what you did, not what you came looking for. Please don't do it again.

2. Those statements are not equivalent.

3. That sounds good; I didn't see that one.
