I was waiting on this for so long, but ended up with a OnePlus instead, excited to finally see them released, it will be great for the Android ecosystem.
They upstream their changes and have a user-unlockable bootloader, which puts them ahead of approximately all of their competitors. Unfortunately they don't really seem interested in selling their phones in most English-speaking markets.
It is pretty nice isn't it. Now can someone please make one with a nice metal case and the ability to run android on it. Then I can basically have my replacement for my much missed Nokia E71.
The issue is that every new Google phone is available in less and less countries. 5a looks like a good option to replace my current 3a, but it is impossible to officially buy it here in Europe.
Sadly, the manufacturers take a long time to catch up to released Android versions. Almost makes users want to "wait a few months" before purchasing a phone.
I think Google needs to help those guys out so that they can get the releases earlier.
I was in a need of new phone and waited for P5 announcement with my final decision.
P5 is underwhelming if not disappointing.
In the end I am a happy owner of OnePlus Nord. Shame it lack slot for expandable memory but i got a bit over 200GB on it so it should last a while. And on paper it beats every Pixel in bang for money category.
