He could, but it would be a shame. He's an excellent writer. I am well to his right politically, but I've followed him for years because I enjoy reading his work and find his analysis a valuable counterpoint to stuff I would more normally read.
Actually, he'd make a fantastic tag-team with _Why. It would be a little like Abbie Hoffman & G. Gordon Liddy on the same speaking tour. Not to say these guys are on analogous points of the political spectrum (couldn't care less) but that they have markedly different points of view and would have a very interesting antagonism.
I have no idea how those two would ever co-write a book though. I bet that would sell, however.
I've read a lot of his stuff and have never heard about that. Would you want to provide a link that supports your claim, so I can make an informed decision about continuing to read his generally good, substantive, and interesting content?
Hey, if you haven't read any of his books, I would recommend it some time. He has a mind like a steel trap. His books are meticulously researched, and he has a sad dry humor.
But what you also get is hope. I've always felt that the reason he does what he does, is because we can point to openness, and draw a clear line between today and the past. Not recognizing what we do in the world leads to barbarism. The world has been rejecting barabarism consistently for centuries. Even a century ago, in america, the discrimination was horrendous. It is better because democracy allows us to question the implementation of government. And he asks the big questions.
I wish he would write more often, especially if he decides to tackle non-fiction using his distinct prose style. His creativity, combined with factual writing, could make for a deep/transformative read.
