I just got an email about a 20% off sale they're having, and I was tempted. Still expensive, though, seeing as how there's so many new ergonomic designs available from smaller companies.

Cool! Thanks for the link! This looks like maybe the most appealing option to me.

EDIT: ... from a technical / DX / ergonomics perspective, that is. Pricing? Not so much.

I've heard of them, but never investigated anything about them. I just now looked them up and new ones are selling for like $20,000.

I don't think I'm their target consumer.

I'd put this closer to a $200 cut, just because the hand controllers are so incredibly vital to enjoying VR.

Linked version is the standard version, which I imagine as a quite comfortable and ideal working enviroment, and costs about 6k USD. Luxury version costs about 50k USD which is not really affordable:

Anyone working with something like that? If so, can you recommend it from an ergonomical perspective?

Do you have recommendations for other similar products, preferrably cheaper and better? Thanks!

> is expected to cost around $3,000, triple the price of Meta’s Quest Pro, potentially limiting its appeal.

Seems like a good idea. Maximizing ergonomics and experience should be the priority, not the mass market access.

They should aim for professionals with the first version.

Yeah. It Looks cool, some nice features. But splits with most of these features can be had for $150 or less, so I don't really see the appeal of spending 200 more without a commensurate doubling of functionality, ergonomics, etc.

ditto on this. I'm up to 9 instances of various types and pretty comfortable with everything. I hope the pricing is reasonable.

Thanks for reminding me of this, really glad they're still iterating. We need more options with long-term companies and support. $393.40 shipped is too steep though, for that price I think the ergodox / moonlander is a better option.

> The Amazon Basics is $13 incl shipping ($10 each if you buy ten) whereas the cheapest configuration (no tilt kit, no wing rests) of your board is $270.

Or you could get a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 for $35.

I've been working on one for a while now. I'll hopefully get a writeup posted soon. However, I can't see it ever being available for $40 like the Tank Mouse... the 3 switches alone cost $12, and the Pixart sensor is $13 unless I manage to find a cheaper source.

And don't forget manufacturing costs! You'd be lucky to take 20% of the retail price.

This is actually incredible. I can't believe it's this hard to get your hands on their most important product.

I can totally imagine this costing several would-be-users

I want the TP-7 so badly (just for its looks and haptics) but the pricing is a joke

They are coming summer 2020, for about $2200. (I think it's been delayed a few times). They look cool. But for my personal use, not $2200 cool.

Looks cool , but the pricing is a bit high for me.

Anything over 50$ isn't an impulse buy

Most of the other novel computer interaction peripherals (like Leap Motion) are in the $100s price range. The $10 price point could really make this popular, especially with the hacker and maker community.

I have a coworker with one and it seems great and he loves it. I’ve just not rationalized the cost vs benefit to justify buying it personally.

Since when is $200 for design figured into the cost equation? And who pays $100 for a wireless keyboard mouse combo?

$20 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823164...

you are at least $280 off on price.

Wow, $330 for a keyboard. I love the passion and the thought they put into it, and I expect that for the small quantities they expect to produce that is the right price to sell it at, but at the same time it seems to cross into the unsustainable price point.
