Easy answer: Stop using Twitter. Stop caring about Twitter. We have the power to kill this nonsense in two seconds -- we only need the will to do so and if we don't we're to blame.

I stopped using Twitter and I'm happier.

You don't need to replace Twitter. It doesn't need to exist in the first place. Just stop using it. Replace using Twitter with not using Twitter.
