> Linode looks good, are there any red flags to worry about?

Not that I can think of. Linode is pretty great if you can deal with the lack of disk space

I don't use Linode but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the heads up.

I've always used Linode for my small hobby things. No particular reason, but I've never had any problems, either.

I've been using linode without any issues.

Linode user for the last 10+ years here, I'm migrating some sites to DO after checking it out recently(again), the UI is better and it seems DO innovates faster these days, and the stability might have improved too(need more time to verify this).

Linode has been solid for me, only one bad hardware crash in the last 10+ years, but DO has more functions, good UI, larger disk, etc. I am trying it again.

Is Linode not just for Linux though?

What do you suggest as an alternative to Linode?

thanks. Linode looks great!

Great answers man, thank you! I feel pretty good about Linode. I'm going to look more into it and shop around a bit more. Thanks for all the help.

I'm a new Linode user (as of this week) and have been happy so far. What are these problems you talk about? I'd like to know before I commit further.

have you tried Linode?

what about Linode?

linode is also a good option

You using Linode?

Linode's weak spot is storage. Their offerings are pretty pathetic.

Where does it say Linode's perform isn't good? Any source DO has better disk speed?

If this is your level of personal use (experimentation), yes, Linode might be fine.

Linode packages have more cpu available and their drive speed is actually pretty good for being non SSD as well. As I'm sure people will point out, neither one of them has a perfect reputation lately, but I've used both for various purposes, just nothing mission critical on DO, just basic quick stuff that doesn't need security or much cpu

As a fellow Linode user, I find this to be a pretty silly comment. This will save some customers a little bit of money and provide some storage breathing room. It's an important latest step to firm up their offerings, and I commend them for consistently doing so over time.

If you think Linode is a good value for the money, continue using them. If you don't, go somewhere else. I don't think anyone here cares whether you're impressed.

Linode recently converted to SSD as well.
