It's sad that you are being downvoted. Nothing that you said was factually incorrect. People just want to squelch you because they don't like these facts and what they imply. Ideology is making things terrible for everybody.

Everything in this post is factually correct, and it is presumably getting downvoted for ideological reasons.

I'm not sure why they downvoted you for telling the truth. Lots of ideological nonsense like that here.

More likely being downvoted because facts go against your ideology.

> downvote if it's factually incorrect

I would be surprised if this had much of an impact. I've encountered a lot of people even on HN who truly seem to believe their ideology is somehow 'fact'. Those who are sufficiently self-aware in this regard are probably not abusing the downvote button to begin with.

You get downvotes because you make many factually incorrect statements.

bpodgursky, your post contains facts presented accurately and without exaggeration.

They are inconvenient facts though and thus your post is downvoted. It is not politically correct to state facts or acknowledge reality here.

Really? If you're going to downvote it I at least expect you to point out the flaw in my comment. It's a little hard to argue it's not factually accurate so I'd like to hear why you downvoted it.

Please explain why anything said above is not factual rather than downvote?

I think he is being downvoted because he is factual wrong. Could someone please elaborate with details?

Is this being downvoted because it is factually inaccurate? I think it's an interesting point.

Why the downvote? Everything I stated is factually accurate.

You're being down voted not because of the content of your viewpoint, but because what you say doesn't make sense, is not supported by any substantive reasoning or data and in general is meaningless defeatist rhetoric, antagonizing for the sake of it.

Huh. Could a downvoter explain whether it's because they think my post is factually incorrect, or because they don't like the facts as presented?

Could you link to something backing up what you are saying? I'm curious about the facts of the matter, and also why a comment like yours (factually correct or incorrect it is pretty innocuous) appears downvoted.

You're probably downvoted because of the difficulty some people have when the facts might possibly contradict their ideological motivations. It's a problem across the political spectrum. Nobody wants to know the truth. They want to push their narrative.

Can anyone explain why my comment was massively downvoted? Am I factually wrong or is it because you simply disagree. If it's the latter, then you are building an echo chamber where new or different perspectives will be disincentivized.

You are being downvoted because of ill-received irony, not because it is factually wrong.

Interesting that my entirely factual and accurate comment, with a source, is downvoted so heavily.

I don't know exactly why people downvoted you (I didn't), but guess it's because you attacked factual statements with emotional statements.
