It's sad that you are being downvoted. Nothing that you said was factually incorrect. People just want to squelch you because they don't like these facts and what they imply. Ideology is making things terrible for everybody.
I would be surprised if this had much of an impact. I've encountered a lot of people even on HN who truly seem to believe their ideology is somehow 'fact'. Those who are sufficiently self-aware in this regard are probably not abusing the downvote button to begin with.
Really? If you're going to downvote it I at least expect you to point out the flaw in my comment. It's a little hard to argue it's not factually accurate so I'd like to hear why you downvoted it.
You're being down voted not because of the content of your viewpoint, but because what you say doesn't make sense, is not supported by any substantive reasoning or data and in general is meaningless defeatist rhetoric, antagonizing for the sake of it.
Could you link to something backing up what you are saying? I'm curious about the facts of the matter, and also why a comment like yours (factually correct or incorrect it is pretty innocuous) appears downvoted.
You're probably downvoted because of the difficulty some people have when the facts might possibly contradict their ideological motivations. It's a problem across the political spectrum. Nobody wants to know the truth. They want to push their narrative.
Can anyone explain why my comment was massively downvoted? Am I factually wrong or is it because you simply disagree. If it's the latter, then you are building an echo chamber where new or different perspectives will be disincentivized.
