Not sure I'm following the "more like 14%" ... can you explain that calculation?

sort by: page size:

the article says 0.14% (0.14102564102564102%), not 14%. that's quite the difference from the current HN title claiming 14%.

editing to add that since this comment, the "article" has been updated to say "14%", but the actual math still doesn't fit that assertion.

Do you have a source for the 14%?

I thought it was 0.15% for both but I see I've misread the data. Thanks for doing the math.

I'm not sure your number is correct. It's more like 20%.

This seems about right, but I'd venture it's 80% 2) and 20% 1).

Looks like closer to 15%.

I think it's something like .0000000000000004%

Where do you get that from...? Everything I find online says it's between 40% and 50%. 0.3% makes no sense.

good point! my bad. just checked the source. it is 53.8% and 23.8% respectively. Would make the correction on the original post but seems that it's too late for me to make the correction now.

Wouldn't that be 42.7% + (57.3% * .25) = 57%?

Hm, not OP but I'm guessing 5-10% maybe?

Actually, it's 0.23 / 1.23 ~= 18.7% of the remaining 55%.

It says 279% in the second paragraph. (And in the third paragraph it says 350%.)

Very good point. I would, however, write that as 0.15%.

Yeah, that's how the 5% becomes 14% equivalent in @jessriedel's numbers.

Are you sure that's right? I don't get how that adds up to 40%.

Wow, I had imagined it to be around 10%. Thanks for being forthcoming.

I'd assume like 20% :-)

That's included in the 2.4% estimate.
