I thought Ukraine was doing this? Offering around 50k USD and asylum to soldiers who surrender.

https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/national/ukraine-offer...

It's hard to know what's real info sometimes though.

There were between 80,000 and 120,000 not including the rebels that they support within Ukraine.[1]

"Per Ukraine".

Sorry, you'd need something better than that.

That would be few days ago

and already all but 4 dead https://twitter.com/nexta_tv/status/1499763642170019846

"Yesterday the conscripts, who were forced to sign a contract or signed for them, were withdrawn from the war zone in #Ukraine. But from a company of a hundred men only four were left alive."

The way I read it is that it's more than it was made in Russia, that was pretty obvious, the title implies that they were brought from the Russian stockpile rather than the Ukrainian one.

You know who else freed prisoners? https://www.newsweek.com/ukraine-releases-prisoners-combat-e...

Including members of the Ukrainian “Tornado battalion”, previously imprisoned by Ukraine for the rape and murder of civilians (including children) in the east: https://www.rferl.org/a/ukraine-tornado-battalion-rogue-para...

Of course the “denazification” thing is dropped. It was nonsense propaganda to begin with.

I’m curious where you are following this? This was absolutely huge news at the beginning of this week. It’s really weird to me that wherever you are closely following this didn’t cover it.

> Its only 12m since 2006. If you were born in 1980 like the poor soul linked above you served 24 months.

2006 was almost two decades ago.

And it doesn't matter when you when one was born (at least not directly). "Since 2006" means no one served 2 years since 2006. Not "only those born after 2006".

> vk link shows how reality looks like on the ground - Z painted busses with mercenaries roam the streets and kidnap people. Comments under the that clip are from wife of a brand new soldier.

You've linked social media, dude... Like, the most unverifiable source of info, where you can engineer and distribute any piece of information and anyone can write anything posing as anyone. Really?

Especially when there are tons of similar "evidence" from the Ukrainian side and both seem to be engaged in "no, its you who actually has the thing I am accused of".

Is this even real? First of all, the dollar amount is unbelievable. Second, it's not being reported on most of the Ukrainian news sites I frequent (or it's well hidden). Third, it's far, far bigger than the missing funds as reported by most media (5.5B).

Title seems misleading. Should be "Ukraine's next generation tanks are too expensive" or similar. From what I've heard, Ukraine's current tank force is very outdated.

https://meduza.io/amp/en/news/2023/02/17/close-to-15k-russia...

An investigation via open sources by the BBC and Meduza (an anti-Putin media outlet based in Latvia) has confirmed the deaths of about 15k Russian soldiers since the start of the war, and estimates the true number to be up to 60% higher.

What sources do you have that the widely reported media number of 200k+ is actually true that doesn’t ultimately come from the government of Ukraine (who would have an interest in over-inflating their victories) or by a western government that is militarily supporting Ukraine?

Well, some [1] news are reporting Ukraine is either sending or considering releasing people from prison to fight the Russians.

[1] non Russian news outlets, if you google you'll get many hits
