That looks like my dream keyboard - except it isn't available with an ISO layout :(

sort by: page size:

The ISO keyboard is unfortunately a true bummer. I hate that layout with a passion and would gladly pay extra to have an ANSI layout keyboard (the one with the flat Enter and the backslash above it) and even install it myself if it's feasible.

It's a pity it is only available in US layout. I can't get used to that small Enter key having used ISO layout my whole life. I personally use a Filco with MX Browns and am really happy with it.

Same. I wish I could find a US-ISO hybrid keyboard.

They certainly do offer ISO-ish keyboards (with the exception of the unfortunate arrow key layout, which breaks 9995-5), as I'm typing on one right now. They don't offer them pre-installed for US orders, if you're looking there; try looking on their EU site instead. In the US, however, you can order the keyboards separately for around $40; the case is designed to support both ISO and ANSI layouts with the same cutouts.

As another commenter has pointed out, there is the quirk, however, that their "English International" keyboard is ANSI. Their British, German, French, etc keyboards are.

Looks very nice, a big bonus that it is available as an ISO layout. The difficulty with finding a decent keyboard is, that as a German, I need an ISO layout, which rules out a lot of potentially great keyboards. But unfortunately it is missing the row with the escape and function keys and the cursor keys.

Currently I am using the Microsoft Sculpt keyboard, and I am mostly happy with it, except that the escape/function key row is only half sizes. If it were full sized, I probably would be compeltely happy with it.

I would be willing to shell out serious money for my dream keyboard, but so far the offerings are few and scarce.

I can’t see a single ISO keyboard (although specs do claim they have it) nor a button to buy one

I would buy this laptop in a heartbeat if I could have an ISO keyboard layout in North America.

At least Razer offers ISO keyboard layouts. I'm very grateful for that. All their competitors offer only US layout, no matter where you buy. [1]

[1] Apple Macbook Pro is the closest device that has a ISO layout option. ASUS/Acer/HP/Dell/MSI/Gigabyte etc only offer ISO layouts for their "mainstream" devices which are nowhere near the level of performance that a Razer Blade has. All "gaming models" are US keyboard only.

Seems like what they have is in high demand and they only have an ANSI keyboard, which is only really used by the US and China (and people that don't mind limitations)

Once they offer an ISO keyboard layout, you would expect demand to be even higher.

If anybody wants one of these in like-new condition with an ISO keyboard, I'll sell you mine (I'm American, ordered the ISO keyboard by mistake :/ )

That keyboard is amazing!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything like that that you could by off-the-shelf.

Yeah... I'd want a full height mechanical keyboard myself.

The current offering is missing International English ISO - Linux variant for me.

That keyboard is an ISO standard. Their recent blog articles have indicated they will be offering an ANSI layout[1] once they find appropriate hardware.

Is there any plans (that you can talk about) for a slightly larger model with maybe more ports?

I want one of these so bad but if you end up doing a larger one shortly down the line i'm going to be really gutted.

Edit: also any plans for a blank ISO keyboard to match the blank ANSI one?

I have only recently learned about isomorphic keyboards and I am indeed curious to try one.

I'd buy that, given the keyboard would have an ANSI layout.

The Lumatone is a high quality isomorphic keyboard. There's software to control the layouts, and you can use layouts other people have created: https://en.xen.wiki/w/Category:Lumatone_mappings . I'll warn you though that the keyboard costs around 4000 USD, and it's around a 2 month wait for the company to build it and ship it after the order.

Asus, the brand that can't make an ISO keyboard in Europe.

Either Surface line or Lenovo x line can be compared with Apple devices, anything else falls short.

That keyboard looks very interesting. I just wish they had an ortholinear variant
