A DDoS is not "hacking". I've personally seen DDoS much bigger than the one described in the article over things as trivial as League of Legends online gaming.
Ironic? To me, it seems quite fitting that a company who has "protecting you from DDoS attacks" as one of their major selling points would publish an article about (recent and relevant) DDoS attacks.
The bit you quoted makes no reference to the DDoS. You decided that the quoted text implied that. You then talk about interpretation, having claimed a specific reference that doesn't exist. You can't have it both ways.
