Thomas doesn’t think his extremist peers would overturn loving. Unfortunately the vote the would seem to be 5-4.

Here, I'll predict the vote: 5-4 not in favor.

>The votes are there

I'm not saying there will be a tie. I'm saying the votes to pass it are there.

Senators have just been afraid to openly support it.

Which in turn would leave 13 votes absent. Although it's unlikely they'd all vote in favor.

They still have a vote

The votes will decide.

The previous House vote was 352-65, so not much different.

> "I have no delusions that it's going to pass," he told reporter Eric Blaisdell. "I wouldn't probably vote for it myself."

Did you read the article?

It likely won’t come to a vote. Then no one has to make a hard opinion.

Oh I wouldn't count on that; I mean if it came to a vote maybe but it wouldn't.

He's against it for sure, but AFAIK doesn't actually have a veto.

Instead of being overruled, the TSC could possibly hold the vote again as it'd probably go the other way now given public sentiment?

Absolutely not. This is not a vote.

He could have voted yes on the Amendment and still voted no on the bill.

The words might change. The result will not - it will be 6-3 or 5-4. Probably the latter as Roberts will vote for no change to try (and fail) to preserve his legacy.

This is rather mild considering some of the previous elections. Heck, this probably won't even be decided by the House.

What surprises me is - even for just 1 vote against - it was not a unanimous decision.

I don't think it would go well, because if none of the candidates reach a majority the decision goes to the house.

That's too close. I hope they can have another debate and vote about just these two options.

Wonder if he's gonna ban anyone who voted yes.
