The right folks is the one person with a high profile that made the decision to switch to AI. The rank and file on here don't have any influence.

Like most AI companies, it is just people.

Don't mind the man behind the curtain.

AI doesn't need accountability, people who deploy AI do.

I don't think many people here think this is true AI.

Seriously, who cares? It is someone who knows nothing about AI, commenting on someone who knows nothing about AI talking to someone who knows nothing about AI, but who is CEO of a company who owns part of a company which has employees who know about AI.

tbh I think I'm more well known in AI than most of the people currently listed there, so I don't think that's the reason.

That's because people look at what it can do rather than what it really is. Maybe what it really is doesn't really matter all that much except to 'AI purists'. But to the rest of the world if a company markets something as 'AI' they will treat it as such, including calibration of their response to the effects of that technology independent of how it works under the hood. Whether your job gets obsoleted by LLM or AGI doesn't really matter to people who couldn't tell the difference between the two and it shouldn't matter to them. Their voice deserves to be heard in this whole debate but the tech world has decided they don't really matter.

It's not the AI you need to worry about, it is about how people will use it.

I don't think anyone here is commenting on the AI trend, they're commenting on a16z.

It's not AI.

Ai: I’m not an AI

because your average CEO doesn't know AI from Auto-reply and inbox rules.they know AI is the hot new thing and they gotta have it.

I don't really consider any machine learning AI, but nobody agrees with me.

I wouldn't care at all if IBM's CEO was actually an AI. But I sure as hell care that the person I have on the phone when inquiring about something is a human.

AI doesn't have anything to do with it.

The key issue: There is no I in the AI.

Who even mentioned AI here?

Why is their “ai” not on the board?

AI is neither a person nor intelligent. It’s software and its owners should follow tue same rules as everyone else.

There's no such thing as AI.
