I'm not a crypto fan at all, but 'Blithering idiot' this, 'Stupid' that, just turns me off the argument, and even reinforces that the naysayers are just as rabid as the 'bros'.

My criticism on the original comment is not about his take on crypto, it is about taking that stance about quite literally anything.

If one refuses to argue because they believe the other side is irrational, then abstain for conversation instead of just name-calling/shitting on the thing on a public forum. This is somewhat equivalent to posting some egregious opinion and then saying "don't @ me".

So what you’re saying is: you don’t like crypto and are willing to make creative, cute but non-sense statements to demonstrate it.

I hate the arrogant stupidity of people that dismiss crypto as a cult.

I don't think I'd be so gentle. It is one of the most cringe-worthy things I've seen in quite some time. Makes the crypto space seem like it's entirely inhabited by morons and fools.

Not sure if it was intentional but you just used the "few can understand" defense that I see in so many Crypto forums. "You don't like it because you don't get it". It's not a very useful defense of a product or concept. Crypto is not the Einstein to AI's Harry Potter, that is comical. This is the "you're all haters" defense.

A bigtime crypto hater.

We get it, Steve. You don't like crypto. And it upsets you that other people like things you don't like, so you feel compelled to write the same useless whine over and over to cope.

Get a life

I'm a cryptocurrencies/blockchain advocate in general but this wETH/BnbEth/sETH/stETH and similar crap is just crazy and stupid.

I appreciate you're not a crypto fan, but must you post something snide under every comment chain in the thread?

I dunno, I'm no cryptocurrency fan, but this style of sarcastic writing just rubs me the wrong way.

I absolutely think we should try to convince people to stop this kind of wasteful work, but belittling someone like this isn't likely to change their mind.

Same. I hate the arrogant stupidity of the crypto cult.

The anti-crypto bros don’t need that kind of nuance. Blockchains = bad, we don’t need to complicate their simple world with big words.

I'm anti-crypto because of all the time I have to waste listening to crypto bros about how awesome their digital tulips are. They don't take "I don't want to hear about crypto" for an answer, either

And? I don't have to agree with the """ hardcore crypto bros """ either. Both extremes can be harmful.

People who defend crypto on Twitter make my skin crawl.

It sounds like you're being the equivalent of an online Karen or any generic unpleasant person that lacks critical thinking, awareness, and so on. There's nothing specifically stereotypical about what you wrote when it comes to people who dislike crypto. For example, the YouTube documentary, Line Goes Up, isn't remotely focused on what your satirical attempt goes on about.

Up front: I hate crypto. I think it is stupid and any use case it has can be solved much more efficiently with existing tools.

To me this blog reads like post-breakup copium. Dude just spent two years of his life and who knows how much money trying to find a market, only to realize there isn’t one. But he is sure someone else will find it! The technology is good!

No it isn’t. And no they won’t. Admit when you are wrong and serve as a lesson to others.

You're assuming a level of good faith in crypto bros that frankly doesn't exist. They aren't interested in any criticism of bitcoin and the like, they personally stand to make money from it and you are just their next potential victim.

"You're old and foolish" is also not an argument in favor of cryptocurrencies.
