It really does need a GPU. Tried it on a laptop with integrated graphics and it crashed completely. Didn't even give a BSOD, machine just went dead and rebooted.

sort by: page size:

no but you need a GPU, and your average person with a work lap-top can't run it and probably postponed buying a desktop computer, if they ever considered it.

No integrated GPU.

Why would that be required? The embedded GPU should be good enough for many things.

You need some sort of GPU to run any OS in a decent way

What do you mean requires a gpu? Doesn't all computing with a gui require some kind of GPU?

It has zero GPU support for now.

You do not require a GPU for a system, a serial port is sufficient for a terminal and putting code on it.

but no dedicated graphics card

But neither requires a GPU.

This makes sense. No onboard graphic card.

It doesn't require a discrete graphics card, it can run just fine on the integrated one.

But if you have a GPU available, it can't use it? Why not?

They need a GPU to function. They are just input/output devices.

Needs more GPU.

No. You absolutely need a powerful, preferably NVIDIA GPU for that use case.

What do you need the iGPU to render?

A desktop or IPMI? Sure, it has one.

An actual game? It may as well not. It won't compete with the iGPUs on Intel CPUs or even AMD's APUs.

No GPU? Not worth buying if I can't play Crysis on it.

Without any GPU support sadly.

It's not so bad to not have a GPU at all (though given that ARM owns Mali and you're licensing from ARM anyway, it seems prudent to have one if you can). The real problem is not being able to use the hardware that is there due to driver issues.
