you spent the last paragraph of your comment complaining about people having a problem with crypto as if you have no idea why that might be

also perhaps consider taking a less passive aggressive tone. throwaway accounts are not an excuse to be rude

Why are you being so rude to people who just want to foster a real conversation with you about cryptocurrency? When you're backed into a corner you can't resort to "it's not for you", and start making personal attacks. It frankly makes your case look paper-thin and further reinforces the idea that cryptocurrency is a chump's game.

There isn't a single "complaint" in the paragraph you refer to.

If stating the factual matter of what you can do with or against crypto is "rude" to you, feel free to not answer next time, as your whining/concern trolling won't change much to these facts... especially when they don't relate to what was debated: reversability of transactions.

Or how about it was a genuine question and you don't have to be rude. No wonder crypto gets a bad rap.

Wow. A topic that makes me despise this place more than crypto conversations.

So many damn people need to take a look at themselves, make their own decisions, mind their own business and stop projecting. Some of these comments are just rude and gross, do better people.

The personal attack on me is unwarranted, rude, and wrong. I don't know a whole lot about crypto because it's not central to my life, and the things I do know about crypto (for example, that it's lousy with scams) haven't inspired much interest to learn more. That deserves a correction, not sloppy insults.

Maybe you thought I was someone else who deserved it more?

I appreciate you being willing to go find actual material to cite, though. That's valuable.

I noticed that you seem to have some negative views towards cryptocurrency users and not their ability to store and keep their private keys safe.

Alright, go for it. Speak out all you want. Cryptocurrency users will continue ignoring and/or deriding you.

Telling people that you don't like what they're doing is not an effective way to modify their behavior. You need to provide competing incentives, and somehow I doubt y'all are up to that.

Crypto is user hostile then? Got it

You have a three day old account and all you do is post negative comments about crypto. Seems like a lowly way of life.

In what way does 'oh you hate crypto? what about airplanes?' add something valuable to this conversation? I'd rather have something concrete I can point to explaining my sentiment rather than simply being rude about it.

Wow, how is this behavior tolerated/allowed? Aren't you basically cyber-bullying at this point? Do I need to like... report you to a moderator or something? Would really not want to waste their precious time but like... how else can I get you to stop/leave me alone?

I was trying to prove (in a conversation how crypto isn't trustworthy) that some people commonly believe 1. the government isn't perfect in terms of being trustworthy (especially when it comes to money) and 2. neither can Wall Street.

Please, leave me alone. I'm asking nicely.

I’m always amazed by these negative knee-jerk reactions whenever cryptocurrencies are discussed here. What pleasure do you get from berating other people for their hobby? It’s like commenting in a thread about an emacs plugin just to shit on emacs and its users because you prefer another IDE. I see no other explanation for this behavior than sour grapes.

You realize the user hostile nature of basically all crypto currencies is not a feature right?

You not being convinced is no excuse for derailing the discussion.

Behavior like this makes people think twice about even trying to engage with the crypto-loving, privacy conscious, free-speech market segment, because even trying to do anything in that direction is met with abuse.

We get it, Steve. You don't like crypto. And it upsets you that other people like things you don't like, so you feel compelled to write the same useless whine over and over to cope.

Get a life

It's like I'm talking to a child when I talk to you. I wouldn't bother if you didn't constantly pop up to derail conversations about crypto with your "crypto should stay hard" attitude. I suspect you want crypto to remain impossible to get right just so you can continue to stay relevant.

The rest of my comment frankly wasn't for you, it's for the folks reading what you write and blindly accepting it. At least now they can see how petulant you can be when facing differing points of view.

Why would you make a personal attack based on a discussion about an industry? I didn't think this was a flame war, more a discussion about the crypto industry - I'm not upset, I'm just bored because I'm stuck in hospital with little to do. This is a tech forum, so is it not the right place to discuss tech industries and opinions thereof? I'm not even in the minority in thinking the crypto industry is unproductive and largely centered around scams and greater fool schemes.

I'm not sure what your personal attack has to do with this discussion - I guess you could have that opinion if you wanted.

Your condescending bone-to-pick attitude about people using cryptocurrency is kind of cringe.

I'm not evangelizing, I'm expressing a feeling. As far as "saying bad things about another's passion" I don't know what to tell you. We all have a right to be passionate about something, but we don't have a right to live free from criticism of that thing. At this point I don't think there's a lot left to be said that hasn't been said before, and frankly crypto speaks loudly for itself.

That's why it's become so despised by so many people, and you can say that on places like this without immediately being hammered into the ground. I'm not trying to convert anyone to my way of thinking, not only because that seems like a waste of time and energy, but because it would be preaching to the converted.
