Sociable Labs is looking for a few more solid Java and JavaScript developers to help us build the field of social commerce.
We recently launched with a number of happy customers including ruelala.com, active.com, and backcountry.com. Our product is essentially a smarter version of Facebook's Social Plugins.
We're building a culture of analytics and testing with a focus on ROI. We're currently expanding our testing infrastructure with the ultimate goal being a continuous deployment production environment.
Our backed runs Java/Jetty and postgreSQL on Amazon EC2, our front-end is completely modularized JS that works with Facebook's SDK.
We aim for simple, understandable, testable code. We do a lot of code reviews and some occasional pair programming. The code reviews opt-in and generally given priority over anything that isn't urgent.
This is without a doubt one of the best environments I've ever worked in.
Social Gold is hiring end-to-end developers in Seattle and SF
We're a growing startup with 20+ full time employees. Many of us have worked at Amazon; many of us have founded startups. Our customers are app/game developers and our services are used by millions of consumers.
We help social games and apps monetize and manage their virtual economy. Payments, virtual currency management & analytics, subscriptions, and more. There's lots of real demand, so your priorities are closely tied to our business needs and your products will make us money.
More about us: http://www.jambool.com
You'll code in Ruby. We're looking for people with 2-4 years of experience writing production code. You'll focus on one or two products, but will be exposed to all of our systems. You'll work with external customers to understand their needs, design solutions (features, products, process) and implement them end-to-end (from UI to the database).

SOCi is the leading enterprise solution for social content discovery and social media marketing.
We are a remote first company for our Dev. Team. If interested, please apply from your location and we will entertain your candidacy as a remote employee.
The job…
We work collaboratively in groups of 3-4 (mobs) where you group program with other great engineers and product people, each representing different viewpoints and bringing different skills to the table.
Iterating and shipping daily in small increments, you're able to progress fast and have a sense of achievement every day going home.
You…
Love writing elegant code
Have a solid foundation of core programming skills in PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
Shiver in horror at the thought of copy-pasting coding
Have experience working in social media space (a plus)
Get nightmares from badly formatted code
Understand that usability and attention to visual details matters just as much as good performance and clean architecture
You are equally comfortable discussing database architecture as you are in debating animations and shadows in the UI all the while keeping the user story in mind to ensure you're solving the right problem.
Have experience working with enterprise-grade SaaS products (a plus).
What's SOCi's culture like?
Our primary driver is professional growth and learning, coupled with a desire to help our customer succeed. We focus heavily on individual mentorship and guidance, peer feedback and are always pushing ourselves and each other to the next level. We're huge on collaboration - mobing/swarming to solve problems either as individual engineering teams, or even Product/Engineering/Design leaders mobing to work out the best new product approach. We focus on moving fast, learning fast, and not looking back.
SOCi is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
We're a three-person startup looking for a great developer. We built the popular Graffiti application on Facebook (but we're not an "app company"), and we're working on a huge new project that's rewarding, interesting, and challenging. We hope it will ultimately improve the world a little.
We're looking for someone who:
- gets stuff done
- is a great web software engineer
- would enjoy building their own web framework
- has good UI sense
- can work in a startup (flexible hours, independence, pushing out features quickly, etc)
- wants to work on something fundamentally important
- cares about users
- hates most Facebook apps, but thinks that building on top of the social graph has the potential to be powerful and useful
- lives near SF or is willing to move
Who we are:
We're three guys who have been working together for six years. Tim and Ted (brothers aged 25 and 22) do web development, and Mark (25) does everything from getting awesome advertising sponsorships to getting a meeting with just about anyone. We do all our brainstorming/decisionmaking/etc together.
We started in 2003 with BooksOnCampus.com and have worked on few other projects since then, but the Graffiti application on Facebook was our first big hit. We're now working on a new project that we're very excited about. We're keeping it a secret for now -- we wish we could be more open, but can't risk it in an ecosystem like the Facebook Platform where companies copy each other and can grow to millions of users in a matter of days.
Graffiti and the new project are both built on the Facebook Platform, but we're not an "app company." We don't view Facebook as a way to spam our way to success (Graffiti is one of very few large applications that has never spammed or abused viral channels). Rather, we've always been interested in creating and improving connections between people, and we think Facebook is a powerful platform on which to do that.
We love what we're doing. We're driven to make our projects work, but other than that we're laid back. We're moral, fair, and honest, and we care a lot about our users.
We're not a YC company, but we happen to live/work in the "YScraper" and we're friends with a bunch of the YC guys.
What we're working on:
We have two projects: Graffiti, and our new application.
Graffiti is relatively mature. It has 2.5 million monthly active users and a strong community. It's profitable enough via brand advertising (Dell, BMW, HP, Microsoft, Comcast, Kohler, Intel, ...) that we haven't needed to raise money. We've turned down several offers of VC money because we wanted to maintain long-term control over the direction of the company.
The new project, the one we're hiring for, is different from other Facebook applications. We can't say much, but here's a little info:
- It's meaningful and could ultimately have a significant impact on the world.
- It's a huge project, but we're building and releasing it piece by piece.
- The part we've built is live, with thousands of users. It's looking quite promising.
- It's community-based. We have some experience with this from running Graffiti, but getting it right is subtle and challenging.
- It's built with PHP, MySQL, jQuery, and Facebook Connect. We decided that existing frameworks (django, rails) ran the risk of becoming too restrictive for this project, so we went our own way. People love to knock PHP, but it's a pragmatic language for web applications, and if used right, its flaws are inconveniences rather than obstacles.
- The model is broad enough that parts are very abstract (e.g. we have a database table of database tables)
Sound interesting? Health benefits and stock options are included. Email us: (hn.jobs.tmt@gmail.com). We'd particularly like to see what you've built before (either on your own time, or for someone else).
Startup is searching for talented and passionate developers to join our team. We're creating a product to transform how teams collaboratively work online. We're looking for individuals who love to write code and push the envelope, and want to be a part of creating something new. Desirable experience includes:
- Flex or Grails/Java. Other technical aspects include Action Script, MVC architectures, Java, Grails, PostgreSQL, web services, Mate flex framework, layout algorithms, JMS/messaging.
- Heavy focus on UI and ease of use. Collaboration, sharing, visualization.
- Familiarity with Web 2.0, social media and collaboration concepts & technologies.

Tasty Labs is hiring frontend and backend engineers in Sillicon Valley. We use Python and Java. We are building a way to help people use their social networks to get things done.
Hiring JavaScript/CoffeeScript developers and SASS/CSS3 designers to help us build social software for conferences and events. We're based in Seattle but YOU can work from anywhere. Full benefits, great salary and equity.
Do you scoff at those who claim JavaScript is not a “real” language? Have you been hacking a side project just to experiment with Node? Does the idea of moving the entire web framework into the browser excite you? Do you take great pleasure in designing user interfaces that are both functionally elegant and beautiful to look at? Do you obsess over bringing your impeccable sense of aesthetics to how you write code? Do you enjoy discovering how to do things in CSS that most developers thought were only possible using JavaScript? Are you tired of working for short-lived start-ups that think “angel funding” is a business model and “VC Funding” is an exit? Then, my friend, we’ve got the job for you:

We (http://labs.linkfluence.net/) are a research company based in Paris, working on communication and product-oriented strategies by analyzing, segmenting, and mapping conversations which take place on social web communities. We develop a lot of technologies to harvest and analyse web data. We are looking for 2 developers (1 senior + 1 junior). More details are available here : http://labs.linkfluence.net/jobs.html
Palo Alto, CA LOCAL or REMOTE (full-time preferred)
- one advanced full-stack lead architect
- web/mobile UI designer
We have funding and are testing a restricted beta of our unique idea in the groups and events space, and are planning on launching our real-time product on the web, mobile web, and native mobile to a wide audience soon.
We've built a real-time stack of our own that bridges backbone.js <-> socket.io <-> gunicorn+gevent (through nginx) <-> django. As the stack matures, we may release the source. The web application is nearly all single-page architecture. We use coffeescript pretty much everywhere, including our javascript tests.
1. One advanced web jack-of-many-trades. You know a lot about several things from above and have at least tried your hand at a demo app using the rest. Backend/frontend/deployment. We'll be growing our user base very soon and need knowledge/experience scaling the above technologies. We're on the lookout for locals (or those who can move to the bay) who want senior developer ownership and can be mentors/leaders as we grow.
2. Talented web and mobile designers (referrals would also be good). Even with the nifty tech we're building, our app will probably live/die based on making an intuitive UI with fun and easy experience. There are several unique challenges in this product that require novel controls -- creativity is a must. Would be great if you have more than just design skills, but very high quality design is more important than ability to build it.
