The fact that others are kicking an old lady to death doesn't mean you should join them. Do what you think is right even if it doesn't change anything. Avoiding flights isn't a big price to pay.

You're still putting others at risk, that's someones family for gods sake. Stop being selfish and stay inside.

Just because you are accepting the risk of getting killed does not mean it is okay to kill you. That would be a ridiculous point of view.

This is a dead person who isn’t here to defend himself. I am certain that if he had a chance to reclaim life and correct a mistake, he would. As in airplane accidents, though it is sometimes hubris or poor communication, it is more often a chain of incorrect decisions that were at the time rationalized as safe. Nobody is trying to die.

It's a big difference that someone is already in the way. If you take no action they die anyway. If you suddenly collapse on the ground or get struck by lightning before you can pull the lever, they still die. It's not your fault that they died.

that's a reason to refuse treatment, not a reason to deliberately put the lives of others at risk.

I'm not saying that exactly. I'm just saying you're better off if you don't get killed by the people you're trying to persuade.

We don’t sacrifice lives for your “quality of life,” full stop. People may choose to sacrifice themselves, but you don’t get to make that choice for them.

The price is the risk that a random bad act like this may occur, not the sacrifice of a life.

The problem is you're not risking your life, you're risking entire humanity - hopefully we as a society find a way to prevent this gamble.

Not all want to fight the just fight. By fighting you become the victim twice.

Yes, you may save others but I cant blame someone for makinf the pragmatic choice for their lives and family.

“I don’t care if my actions kill old/at-risk people” is indeed a perspective, but I’d argue it’s a bad one.

waiver are not here to explain why you should die or not. Just that you won't sue the compagny

When you are prepared to die in a plane crash because of your decrepitude, how much risk to others is entailed in a case like this? If the plausible answer is “not that much” I am with you. But nonagenarian self-actualization at the cost of other people’s lives and limbs is a different story.

So you wouldn't risk your life but you would risk your family's, friend's and colleagues instead?

Right. If you give society both middle fingers while headed off a cliff at speed as the crowd shouts to you to stop, not much sympathy when you’ve run out of runway. We use your experience to encourage better outcomes for those still with us who can make better choices.

Most people won't willingly die at work for any amount of money or accountability, and I don't blame them.

These kinds of situations are outrageous because people want to believe in superheros, but they don't exist.

Also because it really doesn’t matter if you were in the right if you’re dead.

While you’re not wrong, being absolutely in the right won’t save your life when they do fuck up.

EDIT: lol - Downvotes for calling out reality always cracks me up. IMO, you're free to value being right over remaining alive. But life doesn't give two fucks about being right.

A ridiculous exaggeration; you’re asking for volunteers to take a risk. Not killing them.

People can decide for themselves to take risks. You may not agree with the choices they make and that is your problem. Not theirs.
