Actually this is informative. What was important to me was the ability to see how many users they have, then relate it to their amount of funding. Thanks for sharing.

Love this. How many paying users do you have so far?

4500000 users ! that's a lot. I thought that kind of stuff was for a niche. Looks much more promising all of a suddend ! thx for sharing.

I think it's closer to 12,000 users. From join.app.net:

"We eventually raised $803,000 from over 12,000 backers during the campaign."

2 million active users? I think the video said 2 million downloads total, which would put the number of active users probably at 20% of that. Given that they have accepted 15 million or so in venture funding, it really is just change to them.

Personally 160 users sounds like a lot to me. None of the unfunded services I've bootstrapped had reached that.

Thank you for sharing this, dang!

Any stats you can share on registered user engagement?

I'd love to see a breakdown or writeup on this subject in general.

per donor

9603 patrons out of 1.8 million monthly active users

Congrats on 800 sign ups, thats huge! I agree with you on aggressively tracking metrics, although I think I need a bit more than 20 users for my alpha. Its nice to have a concrete number to compare against, even if we aren't in related niches.

Hi, This is interesting. Also, just realized that it has about 24K users already. Good work!!

Curious how many paying users you have.

On top of that, your shareholders will want to know the actual number of active users.

Very interesting. Would you like to share how many users have you been able to sign up thus far?

yeah thats why I'd like to see the breakdown, to see how many end up as paid users

Looks like it's 4 million, which is still worth announcing.

With more users, I'm curious if paid accounts are growing at the same rate as free accounts. I also pretty much assume that a much higher percentage of all users in the US will be paid accounts versus other countries, but would be curious what their actual experience is.

I don't come out with the same numbers. Seems to me:

Just over 3% of total are paying (160,000 / 5,000,000) 7.5% of total users are active users (that's in the article)

Still, they've built a $10,000,000 business (in regards to turnover, not profit or valuation of course) and that's darn impressive as well.

They gave nice stats by country and platform.

I would also like to see stats, by free vs paid accounts? How many of the free account actually use their account are close to their quota limits?

It would be nice to know how big can Dropbox scale, how many servers they can afford, etc ... .

the number of users is key, probably

How many paying users do you have currently?

If you don't mind sharing, how did you obtain that many users in such a short period?
