"People have been drinking carbonated water for over a hundred years now (maybe even two hundred years actually)."
There are naturally carbonated springs all over the world. I used to drink from one in Guffey, Colorado when I was a kid - it tasted like a glass of water with two alka-seltzer tablets in it. I think Soda Springs, Colorado is named for one.
Perrier comes from one[1].
People have been drinking carbonated water for more than 100-200 years.
You mean if everyone else's preference for flat water is linked to their springs emitting flat water?
After the world seems to be in agreement that CocaCola and most lemonades are best served carbonated. But for water there's this weird schizm over carbonation.
I had coke that tasted like a swimming pool in Minnesota. I had no reason to suspect it would, so it's not something I was convincing myself of. It came from a machine that used tap water of course, rather than from a bottle or can.
Everyone thought water tasted like the most delicious fruit imaginable, the nectar of the gods, until some cynical profiteer busybody came around and told them it was plain.
Now we all believe it tastes plain because we've been drinking Coke for all our lives.
I don't believe a word I just said, but a lot of people apparently will.
Sparkling flavored water. Reminds me of a marketing idea I had - sell Crystal Pepsi as "cola-flavored spring water, lightly sweetened" in an eco-themed bottle.
No. No one drinks soda. Coca Cola Corporation’s revenue of 40 billion dollars a year is entirely fabricated. It is the next Enron. When you see a person drinking a soda, try touching them. They are a hologram, an attempt by a fading company to convince people of their relevance.
Having substituted all soda with clear water, humanity has entered a new era of peace and prosperity. War is a thing of the past now that Man is hydrated.
Peace reigns over the Earth as fusion powered reactionless spacecraft take to the skies. Our third space colony is prospering and we are on the brink of conquering Death itself.
