Not really. It was hidden behind a flag, so where should the "entire ecosystem" (who?) show interest?

No, it looks like it's not getting enough attention. (Well, OK, it is not terribly surprising.)

I don't think it escaped everybody's attention.. there are several companies/people working on this.

So the question becomes, why didn't anyone discover it?

Why doesn't anyone seem to be interested in this?

How is this not getting more notice? It must be isolated to only a few of us...

Given the sheer quantity of eyeballs on this story, I expect that the world would know if it exists.

Yeah, I saw it in a bunch of places. It didn't take off as a major controversy in the public consciousness, but that doesn't seem to be because it was hidden away.

There was... if the general population cared, which it doesn't.

To some of them, sure. But even fewer have heard of it.

Not sure how many of you care about this. Majority will not be hit hard with this one at all but for some of us this is huge. I am sad to see how this went under the radar of public. Despite the niche, the size and importance of elaborated issue definitely deserved public attention.

So, something that a small minority of the planet's population would have even heard of?

Yes, but nobody knows about it.

They found it interesting, which is all they need. Maybe they thought others may not have seen it and should.

No, most people don't even know it existed.

I doubt there was ever an actual, official point where they formally acknowledged its existence - that'd draw far too much attention.

If people commented on it, maybe I would care, but what I'm talking about is the total absence of any kind of noticeable reaction from anyone.

I'm genuinely curious if there are places where this actually draws attention. Especially when the linked article talks about "suspicion" not just curiosity.

Yes it does, it just doesn't make the news.

I assumed it had already been quietly dropped, rather than just effectively hidden. It would be interesting to see how much use it actually gets these days.

That maybe fewer people would have even known about it and therefore decreased its importance as a target? /s
