Or it could be on the news that SBF was arrested?

sort by: page size:

I was fully expecting SBF to be arrested if he showed up in-person to this event. I wonder why he is still a free man...

Its clearly not SBF himself since he’s under the lens of justice, but it could as well be someone connected to him.

Virtually all of them? Here's the Times covering SBF's arrest: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/12/business/ftx-sam-bankman-...

Note all the quotes from law enforcement and details about the event.

The new conspiracy is that SBF was arrested to prevent him from spilling the beans on something during his PR tour.

It doesn't make any sense, but the conspiracy people are experts at mental gymnastics.

Timing of his arrest is a bit suspicious. Tomorrow SBF is supposed to testify before Congress [0] and his arrest by Bahamian authorities is a perfect way to make sure that the testimony will not happen. Coincidence...?

Article provides a pretty comprehensive reply to that question. Can't wait to see SBF in jail, but it will take time.

Seems like SBF will be going to jail pending trial after all

Does anyone here think SBF will be prosecuted?

The only surprise will be if the criminal is not linked to SBF

So I'm confused. The front-page article on HN is about why SBF isn't arrested yet. So shouldn't we already have a well-thought out suspicion of what he might be guilty of?

Basically, do we think this is just another financial bet gone sour (not illegal in itself)? Or do we think SBF stole something, lied about something, etc?

Prob should reach out to SBF, he has a lot of political connections and familiar with these kind of situations

And SBF will potentially avoid jail time. Does this not stink for anyone else?

When is SBF going to be arrested? I cannot believe he did this and lost US customers money yet he can walk free.

(I haven't been paying attention to this case, and had't heard that.)

Is it possible that SBF is throwing himself under the bus to protect parents?

So what exactly can SBF do? Is he likely to destroy evidence or start next scam? Okay, later might make some people take action.

But it is not like this is a violent crime where such incarceration is entirely possible.

> SBF was invited to prestigious $2500-a-seat event by the NYT.

Where he was grilled about possible crimes.

Given how prolific and self incriminating writer SBF is, having him out of prison even sounds like good idea for law enforcement.

There's also the possibility that the state doesn't really want to stop SBF from incriminating himself, he seems to have been doing a pretty good job so far.

How many of these headlines do we have to read (representing multiple orders of magnitude LESS funds stolen compared to SBF) before SBF is in handcuffs?
