Didn't the Redmond team get liquidated?

sort by: page size:

I don't think they care about Windows that much any more. They even dissolved the team and it's now a part of Azure team / Office team.

Didn't Microsoft buy it and kill it into Teams Tasks or something?

They got destroyed by Microsoft's pushing of Teams.

IIRC this happened to Microsoft

IT's a great exit for the team, but being bought by Microsoft seems like the kiss of death for the actual product

And the company went bankrupt (if it wasn't bailed out by MS).

So did this have anything to do with the Microsoft buyout?

And now it looks like they will fold under Sam and Microsoft still will be able to scoop up the talent and tech.

I guess this is what happens when you sell your company to Microsoft.

This looks a lot like the behavior of a certain Redmond based company 15 years ago.

They were about to quit *to work for Microsoft.

My instinct is that this is maybe similar - could it be the last desperate acts of a department or departments within Microsoft to justify their value?

Isn't there anyone left at Microsoft who could run the company? I know there has been some serious house cleaning / fleeing, but isn't there someone who could take over?

Would this have happened if they hadn't sold to Microsoft?

They sold to Microsoft. My guess is Microsoft is going to kill it.

nah, Microsoft revealed they outsourced all the financial risk to a "partner" and didnt care for it :-)

Wonder how long this will last. This team doesn't seem like a good fit for big corp Microsoft.

Good get by MS though!

The same seems to have happened at Microsoft for Windows.

Microsoft has been broken up?
