Posting public info isn't doxxing, sorry.

WTF? Posting public information is now considered doxxing?

You don't get much more public than a LinkedIn page.

Purposefully posting things about yourself isn't doxxing, nor is linking to a post of somebody posting personal information about themselves. They publicly posted it, they're fine with it being public.

Posting public information about a public figure is not doxxing.

Where you live is public info, but publishing it still constitutes doxxing.

Posting the name of a harasser is not doxxing.

There is no doxxing. All this information is publicly available to everyone.

Just because information is publicly available doesn’t mean it’s not doxxing. It’s the act itself. Otherwise every accusation of doxxing could be denied with a single level of indirection.

Whatever information is at that public link is info posted by the guy or his employer. It's not doxxing him. It's merely linking to a public webpage that the person themselves approved.

This is publicly available information. It's nothing close to doxing.

Posting a link to a web page that publishes the public tracking information without even mentioning any person’s name almost certainly does not constitute doxing.

Posting company names isn't doxxing

This isn't doxxing.

Does this amount to doxxing though? Naming someone or a company in a public forum is one thing, posting their home address and phone number is different

We're all Internet users here and reporting the news isn't what we are going to consider doxxing.

Your home location is also public info. Publishing it on twitter is still doxxing and always has been.

It's not doxing if it's public information. News at 11.

This isn't doxxing. Doxxing would be if we posted her address, po box, mailing address, etc.

What we are doing here is calling someone out on their bullshit in a public profile.

> Keep in mind that none of this was "doxxing". It's publicly available information

I keep seeing this.

Property tax information and license plate information are also "publicly available" in most areas.

That doesn't make posting someone's home address, or the make, model, and plate number of their car somehow "not doxxing".

They signed a public letter. Making sure other people are aware of their actions is not ‘doxxing’.
