Yea, but companies will keep using it because offloading all HRMS to workday (or similar competitors) is cheaper than doing it all in house. (For companies of a sufficient size. Small enough and it's probably not worth it)

Absolutely! There is even a PeopleSoft module called HCM: Human Capital Management.

What happened to all the applications and services for outsourcing HR departments in terms of payroll, benefits, ect.? -- thought there were a bunch more than Workday and ZenPayroll?

Getting a full list of those would be particularly useful.

Saw this in a software as well recently. There was a grid/table for adding/removing employees. But the title said "Resources".

They have - it's called HR-XML. It's mostly B2B but if you use EuroPass CV it's using this under the covers

Looking Good It seems most HRMS/Payroll systems do a poor job of this.

Integration with Google Apps is nice / key. ( https://www.google.com/enterprise/marketplace/viewListing?pr... )

Hrm, kind of suggests the PAE function would be a useful library on its own in a range of places.

Took me a while to find it too, even though it's linked in the article. The product is called HR Basics and includes onboarding, employee directory/resource lists, and PTO management: https://gusto.com/free-hr

Does it integrate with any HRMS or payroll systems? It may be a nice bolt-on to such systems which have rather dated interfaces, and would allow you to target past the small business focus you have at the moment.

SutiHVM provides administrators the ability to configure various details relevant to your organization for faster adoption and making it simpler to use. Features like Documents, Time Management, Project Management and Payroll make it a more comprehensive solution for all your Human Resource needs.

Ironically, one of these companies did a product that was HR software. :-)

Have you tried Human Resource Machine?

I'm not sure where Human Resource Machine would belong,

might be worth adding this and 7 Billion Humans

Sure. The company I current work for, who consider themselves a leader in online optimization, have all of our HR details on a 3rd party IE6 only site (https://www6.intersourcing.com/www/templates/utilities/TreeV...). So anytime I want to view my paycheck I have to fire up VMWare on the Mac.
