Calling all stations!
SpaceXpanse ROD is now closing on the competition with 1 day to go and we really have a chance to get it listed at Exbitron this round. But we need your help NOW to pour some votes there if you're still eager our project to succeed.
Nice website. There are a lot of cool probes in active mode now like New Horizons and DAWN. For the future I think the probe I'm most excited about is Hayabusa 2, scheduled to grab a piece of an asteroid around 2018 and return in 2020.
I am looking forward to this being available. I consider it one of the bell weathers of the private space flight 'business.' A healthy source of revenue for private access to space will change the market dynamics on what gets built, a small niche revenue will not. Either way, we get a data point.
Moreover, there's lots of companies in every vertical needed for bootstrapping the industry - ground services, satellites, in-space manufacturing, asteroid prospecting & mining... all in the early stage, all betting on cheaper access to space than it was just few years ago. We're in a critical moment where things suddenly start adding up and - I hope - will form something great!
So excited to be part of Epsilon3 and helping so many awesome companies with their testing and operations.
I hope everyone saw the recent epic Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic flights. Those are just the first small step in what's to be a very exciting future. Epsilon3 wants to eventually help so many more people go to space. Now that we’ve had two billionaires go up to space, maybe someone in the HN community can be next?
Being in the midst of all of this, I can vouch for the palpable excitement within the industry: at least if you stay away from talking to traditional prime contractors. There's a real sense that disruption is right around the corner. The biggest problem is that there have been no significant exits to prove investors right. This makes it difficult to raise capital.
Also, traditionally, external capital has sought out downstream opportunities. We've been focussing on upstream tech and it's much harder to prove the case given the long time horizon.
I've seen some incredible applications being pitched, but I think the real test will be whether they are able to generate significant exits. I, for one, hope that the next five years spells a period of immense productivity in the sector, generating profitability all along the value chain. If we're able to ride that wave, I think that there are many more applications that will pop up that make use of space infrastructure.
this plus the recent Planetary Resources launch, plus the upcoming SpaceX rendezvous with the ISS are all pretty exciting milestones. some folks out there are pushing the human race forward. not just making trivial fadish photo sharing websites, etc.
SpaceXpanse ROD just got listed on CoinGecko.
And this finally opens the new chapter of the effort to put SpaceXpanse Multiverse project on its way to the stars and beyond.
