If you enjoyed that you'll probably enjoy Doctorow's Scroogled: http://craphound.com/?p=1902

Anyone else disappointed that this had nothing to do with The Doctorow book? http://craphound.com/category/down/

Doctorow's Printcrime: http://craphound.com/?p=573

Cory Doctorow has a very interesting story on this, Printcrime: http://craphound.com/?p=573

Also Cory Doctorow's 2007 short story "Printcrime"

Pretty sure thats the plot of a Doctorow novel.

this was actually a nod to Cory Doctorow's book: https://craphound.com/unauthorizedbread/

Reminds me of the Corey Doctorow/Charles Stross short story Unwirer: https://craphound.com/unwirer/

That's certainly an interesting view. Can you expand on that? What were they doing before that they're not doing now, or doing more of under Doctorow's influence?

Doctorow’s written a few books here - not sure if they provide an answer, but he’s been one of the better thinkers in this space:

Similarly, I liked Jaron Lanier’s “Who Owns the Future?”, which deals with similar topics:

My favorite of his short stories on the subject, Printcrime: http://craphound.com/overclocked/Cory_Doctorow_-_Overclocked...

As far as I know, all of Doctorow's books are on his website for free download anyway.

E.g. here is Content...

Thanks for the Doctorow metacrap link, excellent reference.

Thanks for the informative read. I hadn’t read Cory Doctorow in years but I’ve bookmarked that site.

I haven't read it but apparently Cory Doctorow wrote a YA novel about this kind of scenario.

Or Doctorow drivel, er, I mean, novels.

Like all C. Doctorow's work it can be found in many different formats @ http://craphound.com/overclocked/download/

Quite an interesting read, I'd gladly read a sequel.

One of my favorite short stories is highly related: Printcrime by Cory Doctorow ( http://craphound.com/overclocked/Cory_Doctorow_-_Overclocked... ).
