Thanks! Happy to know that feature is not completely gone. I actually asked at the apple store about this, but they thought there was no equivalent in the new phones.

My macbook air does this as well. This isn't limited to newer phones. I checked mine, I have an iPhone 12, and this option is in there. According to the support page it's available on iOS 13+.

Just a note - this functionality was not in the initial day-1 release of the iPhone... I don't recall which update had this, but it was well after 1.0

Same! Some cursory googling doesn’t shed much light on how this is implemented in iPhone, I’m wondering (without any basis) if Apple already does this and others are just making a big deal of catching up…

Yeah that launched as an unadvertised feature in iOS 10.3.
