Searching for /bin/[ gets reasonable results for me

sort by: page size:

This seems to be the only one type of search that yields the expected results: http://goo.gl/HEgdG

Still interesting though

Yeah, it seems "search" isn't as untouchable as it used to be. Qwant, for instance, may not be a 100% there but it is quite good.

Binsearch [0] usually does the trick for me. Admittedly I'm not a hardcore user.

Hmmm, the the are surprisingly searchable: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8...

Not sure the search algorithms are working as expected. Consider: https://ibb.co/iGQQPQ

All potential jokes around escaping Google aside, searching for it was easier than expected: https://www.google.com/search?q=e+os

Brave Search has been a nice alternative over the last few months. Still has the !g option if you need but been working well for standard queries.

Or just use search.brave.com

No problems there.

It is the first organic result if you search for '/e/': https://www.google.com/search?&q=%27%2Fe%2F%27

Granted, not how most people would search.

Tried to find an article from earlier this week, no dice. https://hndex.org/?q=open%20source%20security https://hndex.org/?q=openssf

Great idea, I appreciate how fast it returns results! Just needs more more control over the search parameters and figuring out why articles like the example I posted above aren't working and you got yourself a nice HN search.

We're using https://searchcodeserver.com/ internally and it works quite good, it was miles ahead GH search. After today, I'll have to test GH again to reassert this statement.

EDIT:

It's working now. Interestingly, it returns no results for the search terms HNSearch and Broken. Google search returns lots of them.
