let me know when I can get a native build of Office for Linux

sort by: page size:

That will be interesting to see if they actually release Office on Linux distros should the Linux desktop become more popular (and that's kind of expected).

Next step is office being ported to Linux

Excited to see this. Hopefully this resolves the application portability issue for Linux (e.g. Microsoft Office native apps)

Hopefully someone can package a Ubuntu build now.

Wake me when they have a working build for linux.

Linux Build??....waiting for it

I hear you saying that you like to be able to run native Outlook and Teams while you work on things that need to deploy to Linux. Am I reading that right?

I m still waiting for the microsoft linux distro.

I hope native Linux happens for these someday.

Give linux love. I was interested in trying it after reading comments, but as it is I can't touch it until there is a linux build.

You can already build and run it in Linux, even type things in and have dialogs! Linux and Windows are coming.

And .... still no linux build.

* yawn * Let me know when I can freaking buy one! I'm sick of having to use their VM to develop my software, damn it!

I know Linux support is planned, but do you have any timeline?

A "Send me a mail as soon as the Linux version is stable" would be nice.

waiting for Linux as well.

looking forward to b a linux build

This is one step closer towards an effective full Office Suite on Linux, which I would be very happy about.

Let them release it now for normal desktop Linux.
