Love how they rebranded before creating a valuable brand

That seems like such a brilliant move in retrospect. The crazy thing is that they got really simple and iconic brand names because of it.

Yeah, a company that's just starting to build brand awareness should really just up and change their name. Brilliant.

But bought from a running business, venture funded. So, it had to be worth it to them to rebrand their entire business.

Rebranded

They did a big rebrand a year or two ago

Who did they get to do their re-brand? The strategy is sick, video is slick and design language is killin it.

If a brand develops a bad name, they just get a new name.

The grifters were just making sure they didn't miss out on a recent rebranding effort.

I wonder how much they paid a branding agency to come up that ingenious rebranding.

They should have got a better name/branding.

It wasn’t intended to be derivative, but yeah, our current branding is extremely MVP. We’ve been much more focused on building the product and learning how to delight our users. We’ll likely revisit this once we have some more bandwidth.

Rebranding is a thing.

They should probably focus on rebranding next.

I'm sure if they get some traction, they will rebrand.

They’re trying to capitalise one their own brand.

How is that clever? You just renamed your brand away and lost all the credit from it.

This is very insightful. A "branding" indeed. It's like trying to pick FB's new name before it dropped, heh :) Any ideas on what it might be branded?

Right, so it's not exactly "trying to rebrand itself". It's getting rolled in to an existing brand as the result of a merger.

There was a company we used that had to do a massive re-branding after they realized they couldn't trademark their company name. Doubt it helped their brand visibility to do such a switch.
