See, I didn't know that. But, I wouldn't go around claiming it either. Especially if I was making that claim to disparage a competor to my product.

It’s not a brag. It would feel unethical to criticize a competitor’s product without disclosing the obvious conflict of interest.

Except the company never claimed that.

I didn't really mean to imply it was. I just omitted them because I don't know first-hand how such things are with those companies.

Cool, then I will know what to avoid.

People who boast that their company is <insert identity here> owned do that, because their product can't compete otherwise.

I don't consider a self-serving assurance from a company representative to be conclusive proof.

The means by which the company deprives you of the product is not what's being debated.

I've always assumed that was the case. Company stuff is company stuff, don't assume otherwise.

I never said it was in the same company.

Claiming you represent a company when you don't isn't honest.

You purposefully misconstrued the argument to sideline any criticism. Don't attack people in defense of a company's honor, it owes nothing to you.

It is indeed -- which is why I wasn't commenting on their business practices. I was only commenting on my experience with their products.

They may not be. But do you wanna be the person/people to argue that against one of the richest companies in the world? I sure don't, and I definitely wouldn't stake my company/product on it.

I'm talking about working for the corporation, not buying products from it.

No company would ever admit to that! They just come up with excuses as to the reason why.

A company warns about its competitor without any substantial claims.

I understand all that; it's besides the point. The point is that there is no reason to assume that this specific company engaged in such behavior.

I'm not with any company.

> caveats

And I'm pointing those out.

It's not about companies. It's about their customers.

Do you even know what Full Disclosure is?

Seems like you're just upset that a company's press release doesn't mention other companies.
