Right now, access is limited as we continue to build. We are collaborating with a small group of early access users from our community as we develop certain use cases and features. We will be expanding access in the coming months as we expand to new use cases and capabilities.
"endpoints are available in early access" is in reality "we have a waitlist (of unspecified length) for early access to endpoints"
When I try to access: “Access to our API is currently invitation-only, but we'll let you know when you can subscribe to get access to our best models.”
I was really excited about this and applied around a month ago but still haven't gotten any indication of when I can get access. I was curious if others had much longer use case descriptions or were famous or something else to get early access.
Just curious how early did you sign up for the SDK and how long was it between your request and when you were given access? I requested access probably a month ago and haven't heard anything since.
After you request early access, you'll be contacted and asked a few questions before being sent the invite link to be able to use it. We do this to ensure there's a good fit between the product, the problems it solves, and the people we want to serve.
I am, I signed up late though and got an email about it last night “ Access to our API is currently invitation-only, but we'll let you know when you can subscribe to get access to our best models.”
The only thing I'm in awe of is how so many of you guys got API access. I signed up for the waitlist something like fifteen minutes after the announcement, and have yet to hear a peep. Meanwhile it seems everyone else here has been playing with it.
Hey, thanks for commenting. Sure I would love for you to try it. I believe between this week and next week I will start giving early access to all those users that have signed in the Waitlist. I am going to give free access for users to test it and give feedback! I will also post updates on my personal X (Twitter) account.
I've met people who applied to it at different times. None have got the key yet, including me. I don't think they are handing out many api keys. They probably had some sort of limit in mind when they launched and they probably reached it already. Unless you're a company or individual they are particularly interested in, I think the chances of getting it in the near future are quite slim :(
