Seems it uses useradd not adduser

sort by: page size:

I'm trying to add user ids!

Seems odd that it lists /home to pick a user, instead of getpwent.

I use this as well. Takes all of 2 mind to set up, or add a new user

+1, not having the user selector on this is a pain, more than once ive spun up some resources on a personnal account accidentally

You can add users with console access from the IAM API if you have enough reach.

User www doesn't need to be a superuser for this to work btw

It is correct but apparently not sufficient - you need to give CONNECT access to user profile.

Pick a users?

Nice app though.

Admin page where you create users for other persons. Not cool when browsers try to add your password as password for all the users you create

Oh I see. That explains it! I always wondered what the number was next to my user. Thanks!

I guess there is a constructor string -> UserID

Thanks I was missing yhe multi-web user element

That's interesting, thanks! My shell sets the USER variable (but no USERID or GROUPID), which might be good enough for all our developers, but probably not reliable enough for a general audience.

So how well does this work under secondary users? AFAIK /data/data always points to the primary user's data directory, so this wouldn't quite work...

How would it be used from user code ?

I paid Discord money to get a custom user #. How's that supposed to work?

Technically you don't need those if you always run your contains as a single user mapped to your real UID.

Yes and no. It looks like there are at least two different tools creating users on my platform. One of them looks likes it's using chromedriver, and the other one has a varying user agent but some other constant things that they do.

In my case, it's pretty easy to tell a real user from who has an email that matches up with the username and what form they used to signup.

> really well thought out app in terms of UX. Does exactly what you need it do, clicking a username does what you expect,

How do I see a person's username instead of their real name when hovering over them?
