Why yikes? I followed the former POTUS's trial closely.

I watched the whole trial, it's pretty hard to excuse. Even GOP minority senate leader agreed he was guilty of inciting insurrection (despite voting not to convict on a technicality he created). Sorry if it doesn't match up with your worldview.

He's currently on trial, too.

Wasn't this trial an example of him being held accountable?

AHHHH I was confused, and thought that he wasn't originally convicted (maybe this exposes my own hypocrisy).

The reasons he is hated aren't the same as the reasons he is on trial.

Probably because he's on trial..

But wasn't he found guilty?

That presumed that the whole trial wasn’t the cause of the mental issues. I’m sure that facing an immoral DOJ out for blood caused him a lot of stress and depression (or triggered any latent issues).

Genuinely baffling he'd write this book before the trial, with this narrative.

I think the main reason the trial isn't going well for him is his obvious, overwhelming, and well documented guilt of committing the crimes he's charged with.

Was that trial a bit politicized yu think? serious question

I think it's impossible to have a fair trial when the guy has made an entire career out of detailing precisely what illegal actions he has taken.

Do you have a link for this? I haven't followed the trial closely.

I wasn't aware he was on trial. It's surprising how little attention his case has received.

So he was guilty anyway, that's all I needed to read.

That's what he was accused of, but since he never got a trial on that matter why do you assume it happened?

What I got from that trial is that they're both narcissistic liars with violent tendencies. Neither of them came out of that looking better than the other.

Yes, it went to full trial in the senate. Where he was ultimately not found guilty. The legal process played out.

But not before the prosecuting team was found to have been doctoring evidence against him. By adding a blue checkmark to tweets, they were then using to try and convict him. Its what happens when people try to use the ends justifies the means thinking.

I'm sure it can't have escaped the attention of the defense lawyers.
