Of course not, but you could use it for signing up etc.

sort by: page size:

is this just 'showing' a sign up page?

I used it for signing up with stackoverflow and tend to use it when I begrudgingly sign up for something, if it's an option.

Oh I mean, it's totally worth it to include terms on your website. But must it be in the signup form?

The link demanded a "sign up" so no way.

Probably the most elegant (and eloquent?) line would be in BASIC:

END

says it all.

It's only for the signup page so that really isn't a problem.

No, I know.

It's a placeholder for "Getting started", which I'll activate once I open to signups.

Yeah, it was its own page in the sign up process from what I remember.

Yes, but Stack Overflow's signup screen takes more thinking than most sites (by virtue of being different, not to mention its complexity). Amazon's signup is far simpler and it does not seem to be terribly insecure.

Yea good point, you can use (test@test.com and 111111) if you don’t want to sign up.

Yep, users can sign up by email too.

Yes, it's still early days for them so signing up isn't as easy as it can be. It's very usable already, though.

I would have liked to used this, but you only offer sign up via facebook or linkedin.

It does seem the invitations are for the profile section but you can still register normally.

In any case, thanks!! Seems like an interesting way to create a profile. Wonder how 'valuable' this is compared to LinkedIn or a simple webpage.

True, but this is no sign up required, just type a number and hit a button.

That was presented as an option, but explicitly not recommended.

> …you can make the signup process email based.…I don't recommend this, because of the context switches, though you can implement it.

If they had an MX record, this would be really interesting to see. I'm sure I've seen plenty of signup forms with placeholder text such as: user@example.com

>there is a reference to signing up on the Help Me page

Where in there?

No, I prefer email signups.

I think you've just got too many "okay next" steps. Also, is account activation really necessary? Couldn't I just start using the app immediately and activate within X days?

I could see it as an option for sign up, but you won't get much action from people manually posting things.
