Yes, it happens fairly regularly. The concept of 'sexting' nude pictures of each other has become fairly ubiquitous in many places, and it happens semi regularly that a jilted ex will report to police about the existence of such photos, QED. It's happened in my state several times in the last year.

Yes, they're real. Ars has done some good articles on them, particularly IsAnyoneDown. Ex-boyfriends post sext pics online, ex-girlfriends then pay "independent" lawyers to take the pics down, it's a brilliant racket.

No it really does happen its just not so common among older people, I know people who got in trouble with their gf because they were caught subscribing to the OF of some other girl they both knew. Only half the appeal is random people selling nudes, the other half is the hot chick from your high school class selling them.

People want pictures of those that they interact with on a regular basis/are attracted to. Otherwise sexting wouldn't be as large of a phenomenon as it is.

Nude pictures don't qualify as blackmail material? Clearly they do, to some people, as there are numerous cases of nudes being used for extortion.

I doesn't seem far fetched that there could be a significant overlap between men who have enough insecurity about themselves to pay for the service, and men who would be amenable to blackmail using said photos.

Besides, it's not just the photo. Likely other things were shared as well, and the embarassment of having paid for online sexting might be more than enough for some people. Especially if they're married...

I don't know about the pictures but they could have legally slept with each other in Austria. I have never heard of sexting cases here unless the pictures were made available to a wider public.

Sexting is a direct erotic interaction with someone. It is not actually about the pictures per se. A lot of sexting doesn't involve pictures at all.

Nudes might have a higher probability of being deleted.

Didn't they just launch a feature earlier this year telling people to upload their nudes so they could better detect when an ex miss-used them?

And almost certainly pictures of them in the act. Though no platforms will admit to surreptitiously capturing photos.

Maybe it doesn't float your goat but many people are interested in it and sext with their partner. Who might become an ex which is when the trouble starts. Which brings us to...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revenge_porn

But really, leaks can happen through a bunch of ways. An old hard drive thrown away, a stupid password on some online storage...

But I'm not surprised people do it, to be honest. Porn is big these days and people get enticed to make their own.

I thought it was the sexting?

Revenge porn. You just have information. The ex-girlfriend shouldn‘t make a drama ouf of that. The photo is only a number!

> Sexting was defined for respondents in the survey as “when someone takes a naked or semi-naked (explicit) picture or video of themselves, usually using their phone, and sends it to some-one else. The image is called a ‘sext’.”

Of course it did.

What's more appealing, a socially acceptable method for your girlfriend to send nude photos of herself to your phone that are then removed (allegedly).

OR Facebook, which is just reaching popularity with your parents...

Are they sent by the women who own the genitalia?

I have never once received an unwanted nude from a woman but as spam whereas with men it has happened enough times for me to believe without statistical justification that unwanted images of male genitalia would be more common.

Sure. But the genuinely abusive users are always a minority. Although on the scale of FB and the likes, that could still be a large absolute number. Perhaps if we, as a society, stopped obsessing so much about nudity, unsollicited dick pics might become a thing of the past. One can dream, I guess.

NCII is an awkward term, but improves on "revenge porn":

* A nude isn't automatically "porn." In fact, nudes shared with one's BF/GF/spouse/etc aren't really porn at all.

* Not all images like this are for revenge. Some people just share photos because they're assholes.

I dunno, in this case, it kind of does seem that his mistress wanted dick picks?

And maybe you're different than everyone else, but I suspect a lot (maybe even the majority) of adults have taken nude/semi-nude selfies. Probably more women than men, but still.

regarding "tits or gtfo": the interesting thing is that she may have already done that, and you just don't know. There's quite a bit of anonymous flashing pics both there and on the Internet in general.

Not that I'd know, I've just had people tell me this.
