Ive been running DND mode (Do Not Disturb) 24/7 for the last few years, and it works well. No calls, texts, notifications, nothing. Helps me to use the device on my own terms rather than in response to someone else.

Android also has very flexible Do Not Disturb settings.

'Do not disturb' settings have been granular enough for awhile now, such that this is no longer a problem unless you want it to be.

I'm pretty sure that Do Not Disturb is in manual mode by default. You can change it to automatic in the settings.

There's also Do Not Disturb mode which turns all notifications, but also all phone calls, off for an adjustable amount of time.

I think the OP is talking specifically about the way you activate Do Not Disturb.

I've been using do not disturb mode and airplane mode daily in the evening until early morning. It makes for a great break from the constant barrage of notifications.

Why not use Do Not Disturb mode?
