Glad there's an option for us high school drop outs :)

That’s pretty impressive. Any chance you can shed light on the feasibility of this for a standard high school dropout? Did you have certain luxuries from family or otherwise that made this possible?

I’m mostly asking to learn how the US system (assuming you’re in the US) supports folks taking this path.

High School Dropout

I also dropped out of high school (and never bothered to get a GED; I went to college for a while and then dropped out to do a startup, so I've ended up with neither diploma).

It's kind of fun being able to put "high school dropout" on forms, while not being a deadbeat.

It provides high paying jobs for high school drop outs.

Ah, that totally makes sense. Apologies if that was a dumb question, I am a high school dropout after all. :)

Yes. I dropped out of high school in the US and I know it.

As somebody who has never regretted dropping out in high school I find this whole conversation pretty amusing.

dropouts ftw!

There's a big difference between being a college drop-out and being a high school drop-out.

If you look at the opportunities and statistics for high school dropouts, it makes a compelling case to the contrary.

And I argue this as an education system skeptic and college dropout myself.

Out of curiosity, what kind of educational background do you have if you don't mind the question? As a highschool dropout it interests me. :)

Ok, how many of us reading this are high school dropouts?

Not exactly a high school drop out, but dropped out when I was 19 and I now work at a bank (r&d team). I'm far from being the only one too.

Can I ask where you are now in life? Im a high school drop out as well and have found it very tough to get back into things, crippling anxiety only driven further by lack of participation :/

As a high school dropout, I'm just going to go ahead and extrapolate.

College dropout here and I'm doing just fine. School matters naught if you're smart.

That route usually requires some sort of high school diploma or equivalent. It's also exactly what I did. I don't regret leaving high school early because it was a real hellhole for me. For the record, it's also entirely possible to transfer to prestigious 4 year universities this route too. I'm planning on applying to Stanford and the like :)

Many of my friends also finished HS early or left in middle/high school to go to college. We're very proud to call ourselves high school dropouts. ;)

High school drop out here. Now I make more than most graduates.

Dropped out of high school, currently in uiversity. Fun times.
