Hm, looks like the Logo example doesn't quite work anymore - but the prolog one does.

Cool, we got Logo, BASIC and now Prolog. All one needs to begin programming, eh.

Thanks, will check that too. I remember The Art of Prolog coming up here on HN a while ago.

oh! that explains why my Prolog hacking has been so unsuccessful. Thanks very much.

Cool! That's actually really close to the Prolog version.

meanwhile I'm still stuck trying to make prolog work xD

Good point! (And it brings back memories of fun with Prolog, although I guess that's `false`.)

looks like a hacky version of prolog.

Cool, thanks. Good point about Prolog.

Still be using Prolog.

I had no idea Visual Prolog existed! Thanks for that mention.

That looks pretty cool. Whenever I see the words "prolog-style" I always ctrl+f for "cut", and this one passes!

Well, there's Prolog.

Right, but Prolog doesn't use begin/end's.

Cool! Reminds me of Prolog.

It's been a while since I've coded in prolog, but that sounds a lot like what they were trying to do.

Looks Prolog-ish. Interesting, thanks for sharing.

I think -> is newer, but it's in ISO Prolog, which came out in 1995. So it's rather likely that the OP learned Prolog at a time when -> existed but teaching resources had not caught up. Not sure if that's the case even now.

The syntax apparently borrows from Prolog, since the first version was built with Prolog, from what I've read.

If you don't mind my asking, what are you using Prolog for these days?

I've only done one basic course on it a long time ago and really liked it but I don't think there are many places that use Prolog nowadays.
