This year will be remembered as the first year TechCrunch failed to break any major stories.

sort by: page size:

TechCrunch hasn't been relevant for years.

TechCrunch are nothings now. This year every major story has gone through AllThingsD and other sources, with TechCrunch rushing to post a rewrite.

All they have left is soft-serve YC press releases, major startups posting minor updates, and generic shit like the rest of AOL's content farm churns out.

I won't be at all surprised when next year they announce TechCrunch is re-launching as a category on Engadget who are actively pursuing startups and are much better at spewing out rewordings and zero-impact articles.

People actually expect decent journalism from Techcrunch?

Huh. They've been barely keeping it above the gutter several for years.

The last useful techcrunch article I recall was them covering the youtube website before anyone else.

Nothing like TechCrunch.

Then again since when TechCrunch really practiced journalism?

TechCrunch Fail again.

It's techcrunch, not journalism.

Techcrunch tried but couldn't become the Red Herring of web 2.0. Nowhere near.

TechCrunch is not an example of quality journalism. Much the opposite.

TechCrunch lost credibility a loooong time ago (well before being sold to AOL). It's safe to ignore any drivel it publishes.

I stopped taking TechCrunch seriously a long time ago.

Absolutely no journalistic integrity.. even for blogging standards.

It's only ever mentioned for a month, and it was called "Techcrunch 40" in 2007, which was its first year.

TechCrunch probably couldn't sell enough ad space this year.

When was the last time techcrunch posted something worth reading?

Is Techcrunch pissed they didn't break this story?

I remember last year Techcrunch was publishing story over story about Secret, mostly as uninteresting as 'Secret app has an update and now it remembers where you left off'. And there was always someone commenting on the article 'Techcrunch stop trying to make Secret happen, it is not gonna happen.'

That artificial media boost brought users and huge expectations, but users did not stick.

Its techcrunch, expectations are low to begin with.

Yeah TechCrunch has really passed it's heydey.
