I was absolutely shocked when I saw this, this is so awesome in so many ways. It resembles Age of Empires but much better graphics.

Age of Empires has this thing where you can upgrade your empire to the Castle age or Imperial Age I wonder if this game has that?

I played the original Age of Empires when I was really young, I liked it so much I built my first website ever on geocities about that game.

I loved AoE 2 when it came out too. And yeah I loved the history immersion

You are thinking of Age of Empires 2. There is actually already an HD remake of that game, with new (optional) civilizations and various gameplay improvements. You can find it on Steam.

As regards civilization, I have been playing AoE2HD with the Mongols. I always used to play the Romans for AoE, though I think I will switch to Greeks or Assyrians if I pick up this one.

Age of Empires is far from being abstract like Chess. It is heavy on violence.

Thanks for such a great game. I remember playing Empire on my Amiga back in the late 80s, it didn't have any of the fancy 3D graphics of my other games but I still played Empire the most. I still play a clone of it frequently on my iPad.

Play Rise of Nations and its expansion.

You go from Stone Age to Information Age in about 45-50 minutes with awesome multiplayer. It is my 2nd favorite RTS behind Starcraft. Still can be very competitive and requires decent APM and multitasking, but its on a much more Macro strategic scale.
