All of our client work is a protected secret under NDA.
Our workflow includes constant communication over Skype and sharing our GIT repo so our clients can see progress being made in real-time. Our clients are always looking for a faster turnaround time with flawless execution --and that is our niche that we are consistently creating.
If you are looking for a front-end developer to supplement your team, reach out to us. Let's chat.
A tagline of what we do is: Refresh helps connect people at a deeper level by providing realtime insights about them just as you're about to meet them.
The best description however is found by simply installing the app (Iphone only at the moment - we're in the app store, Android soon - see job description below!) and trying it yourself.
We're super proud of the team we've built and we plan to keep the caliber high.
We have exactly one requirement for hiring an engineer - it's someone we'd like to work with. That's a simple statement, but if you dig deeper, there's a lot to it. It says that we think they're smart. And that we could learn from them. And that they could learn from us. And that we get along, and they fit our culture. And they're passionate about our product like we are. And of course - that they also want to work with us.
Our interviews are fun - at least we think so. They're largely modeled after largely after Google interviews (there's a lot of Google interviewing experience in our team). Questions are either real problems we've had to solve (probably recently) or some abstractification of a bigger problem to see how you attack problems in general (with the "getting the right answer" not being the interesting part of the interview).
Specifically - We're looking for:
Backend Developers:
You're a crackshot in your backend language of choice. As I said, we're building a system that does an incredible amount of work all while the user is waiting for it to complete - so needless to say, we're looking for people who care about performance. A lot.
Our backend is a highly concurrent system written in Java using MongoDB. You might know Java or you might not, but either way you're willing to learn. If you don't know it - you can impress us in your language of choice. You understand algorithms matter. You also understand sloppy database access could make that ugly n^2 algorithm look absolutely blazing fast.
You love to code. You love to show off your results now and then to other engineers (as they're probably the only folks around who might get the intracacies of what you're excited about)
We're looking for both Senior and Junior backend engineers. If you're a Senior Engineer - you've worked in server-side code for a few years. You've scaled to thousands or millions of users. You can talk to other Senior engineers with very few words because you both know the special cases, assumptions, and pitfalls cold.
If you're a Junior engineer, you love to code and you're good at it. But most importantly - Be smart. Be passionate. Be excited. (New grads please apply!)
Android and IOS engineers:
You have apps in the store you can show us. You care about the user experience. You have a few years under your belt in either Objective-C or Android-Java.

Front-end/Full-stack engineers.
We are working to make the internet more secure.
I am looking for great additions to our front-end team.
We are a django/angular.js/d3.js shop. With an opportunity to
work with big-data - analysis(java) & presentation layers.
The team currently has full-stack engineers, with a slight
bias towards the back-end. We really need help with the front-end.
While the job involves the usual web-app stuff, we are really excited about an ability to provide near real-time analytics.

Webflow — Mountain View, CA - fulltime (INTERN and REMOTE welcome)
We're a small team of 6 engineers and designers on a mission to make web development much easier than it is today. Code-based tools and frameworks are great for us hackers, but designers and entrepreneurs need more intuitive, visual tools in order to build great websites and web applications. Today, Webflow is mostly helpful for static sites... but in the near future, it will empower non-programmers to create much, much more.
As an example of what we're enabling today, here's a site built completely visually in Webflow by a designer: http://interactions.webflow.com/
If you're an exceptional engineer with a strong design background, and you really understand the pain that creative people are having to put up with today just to get their work on the web, we really want to talk to you. We provide great compensation, give out actually meaningful equity, and have a great benefits package. We're also well funded by top investors and financially stable.
You can email me directly ~> vlad@webflow.com
Instead of just sending a resume, please tell me what you'd improve in Webflow instead... that starts a much more interesting conversation :)
Apply at: jobs@refresh.io
H1B transfer applicants welcome.
Who we are:
Refresh is a Silicon Valley startup located in downtown Mountain View, just blocks from CalTrain. We rraised $10M from top VC’s Foundation Capital, Redpoint and Charles River Ventures. Our current team includes Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, LinkedIn, and Salesforce veterans, as well as Stanford and Harvard alum.
Looking to hire a full-time Web-developer. Skills should include javascript, HTML, CSS, JSON, angular/backbone/ember.
Looking for intermediate to advanced full-stack coders and a designer with additional skills.
We're just days from launching a restricted beta of our unique idea in the groups and events space, and are planning on launching our real-time product on the web, mobile web, and native mobile to a wide audience in a month or two. Our dev team is all remote right now, but it'd be great if you were local to the peninsula or willing to relocate at some point in the coming months.
We've built a real-time stack of our own that bridges backbone.js <-> socket.io <-> gunicorn+gevent (through nginx) <-> django. As the stack matures, we may release the source. The web application is nearly all single-page architecture. We use coffeescript pretty much everywhere, including our javascript tests.
1. Advanced web jacks-of-many-trades. You know a lot about several things from above and have at least tried your hand at a demo app using the rest. Backend/frontend/deployment. We'll be growing our user base very soon and will need some deployment automation skills (chef or puppet + fabric) and knowledge/experience scaling the above technologies. Note: we have a great lead architect right now, but are on the lookout for locals (or those who can move to the bay) who want senior developer ownership and can be mentors/leaders as we move towards having more of a local presence.
2. Talented web app designers (referrals would also be good). Even with the nifty tech we're building, our app will probably live/die based on making an intuitive UI with fun and easy experience. There are several unique challenges in this product that require novel widgets -- creativity is a must. Would be great if you have more than just design skills, but very high quality design is more important than ability to build it.
