I like how the small cupboard used to host the rack is bigger than most bedrooms in European city apartments.

And they can be stored in A4-sized cabinets w/o difficulty as well.

Who doesn't have a lot of flat surfaces in their kitchen?

The point is there isn't enough counter space as-is. Where do you chop things if you're cooking on the counter?

These are beautiful but not practical for small apartments.

galley kitchens are awesome, super practical, keep mess out of sight.

IMO, this would be a major advantage of countertop units. Buy two or four or six or eight, store them away in the cabinet when they’re not in use and enjoy the extra counterspace, bring them out when you need them.

I just keep them on the counter in the kitchen.
