:) Well yeah, but though you and I aren't exactly dying of shock, word seems to spread slowly about what Google is like now.

I didn't even know Google I/O still existed, which about sums it up.

tl;dr ... haha not really. Google is on a roll. I both fear and love it.

I am pretty sure people at Google are reading this thread. I'd love to see their reactions :)

Yes! The "killed by Google" meme is young. Back in the days it was like "i want to be like Google" (ignoring the fact that most people don't have scale like Google and very different problems) and anything out of Google must be good!

People finally waking up to the what Google really is, perhaps?

That's weird. I could have sworn that people other than myself knew about Google ...

A lot of people do care, especially if they're used to using Google.

Yeah I was one of those. Now that the power it brings has dawned on me I'm trying to integrate it everywhere I can with a "where was this thing for half my life" feeling. I truly think it's a bigger revelation than Google was when it first appeared.

There's definitely something disquieting behind the elation.

Frankly that was my reaction when I first heard of "google".

Which had an interesting reception among Googlers.

I think we have been in that situation since everybody started mimicking how Google does things

Mostly goofing with you. But it is kind of crazy to think 20 years ago, nobody knew about a thing called "Google".

Wait, did you describe what Google is currently?

Playing "is google on this website or not?" just became so much easier, simply see if website works or not.

Scary stuff. What happens when Murphy's law decides to crash things even more?

Okay. After having five or so stories about this, I think we all know about the Google engine changes by now. Seriously.

Nice to get a comment from Google right away, though.

May I draw your attention that Google was made a little bit later, and the Internet too.

Oh sure, I agree. I am not saying those are not, just that it's so shocking to find it's Googlers.

Note to self: Google has the capacity to make something well known quickly.
