The $200k is the income (revenue). Monthly expenses have been published in the past, most recently (AFAIK) for 2012: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au7yiR802qQmdDJ...

Sorry, I should point out the $200K includes my day job. From this gig it's about $50K

$200k/year?

$200k is about $1200/month for the mortgage, taxes, and insurance.

I think the 200k was mostly rent.

$20k/month is $240k/year, which is some serious money. Forgive me if I'm a little skeptical of these numbers.

monthly expenses of 200k? Wow, that is quite a lavish lifestyle. Just wondering what costs so much... that is more than 6k per day.

I don't disagree with you -- $200k is a lot, especially by global standards. But I encourage you to check the Form 990s filed with the IRS by your favorite 501 charity, and see how much is spent on e.g. executive salaries. This kind of compensation is not uncommon.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought $300k sounded a little off since cluda01 asked about estimated monthly (not annual) cost.

Probably $27k of income per month with $29k of expenses, implying a $1.2M loan due in a few years? Just speculating.

200 dollars is not a big emergency expense for someone who makes more than $100k per year.

Expenses are interesting and add up rapidly (as any business owner knows)... 500k over two years for 20 people is only $1000/person/month and that has to account for all living expenses plus whatever else is required (flight training, cover identities, bribes, pay-for-play etc.)

$200k is a lot of money for many (maybe even most?) people.

I would be curious to see a breakdown of 100k of expenses.

I’m curious where you came up with $200k/month as a floor for “normal”

The 150k/year also accounts for overhead such-as taxes, HR, cash reserves for rainy day, software licensing etc.

It's more like 25 to 33x annual expenses.

$200k is the 94th percentile of income.

I'm confused by your income totals in your two examples: "$200,000 of income" and "$1.9m of income" can you break these down for me?

$200k if you add to this year-end taxes, cost of living, you can barely finish the month.
