Thanks! Being a startup in Home Depot is actually really exciting. The overwhelming majority of products they stock are from large established brands (rain bird, black and decker, mikita etc). Our big advantage over those companies is that as a small/nimble team we can iterate our product quickly.
This is a good crop and I can see a lot of success coming from all of these companies. There's a market out there and it's waiting to be tackled. Several of them are known solutions applied to another niche.
There is more of a real world feel to these companies. Robots, Big boxes of delivered things, instacart which isn't in this list, but is another example.
I also notice there's a lot more traction already with these companies than I remember -- it's a more mature bunch. I wish you all the best of luck. The journey hasn't even begun yet, but you've come a long way already.
It's honestly gratifying to see that we landed on a similar product space independently. I read it as a strong signal that there's a real need for the product. I've been impressed by how much ground they've been able to cover, and how quickly they're building.
Beyond that, I think our focuses are somewhat different, as our current roadmap is focused on serving growth engineers. Still happy to see them working in the space.
Slightly tangential note - Square has the most gorgeous product videos I've seen from a startup. Their jobs section even lists an open position for doing these so I guess they do them in house. Very impressive.
Thanks! They look great as well, I've never heard of them before so thanks for the link. We definitely have a vision where where we want to go but unsure where that will diverge from competitors. Focused on just building things people want at the moment :)
So they're successful because they're holistically thinking about the entire supply chain, rather than just think that a cool product will sell itself?
It's pretty exciting. The founders are sharp and know what it's going to take to break into this market. It'll be interesting to see how it all turns out.
