Riots are the language of the unheard

> Dr. King put it best: "a riot is the language of the unheard."

Sometimes. It can also be the language of those who know they're powerful enough to do what they want.

Classic example: Lynchings.

MLK: "I think that we've got to see that a riot is the language of the unheard."

"A riot is the language of the unheard" ~ Martin Luther King Jr

“In the final analysis, a riot is the language of the unheard." - MLK

While private businesses, homes, and police precincts were burning, many politicians were promoting more rioting and reminding us that "rioting is the voice of the unheard."

And "to riot"?

Agreed, the first half of MLK’s famous “a riot is a language of the unheard” quote states that the conditions existing in America which foment riots “must be condemned as vigorously as we condemn riots.”

MLK Jr. - "A riot is the language of the unheard"

As MLK said, a riot is the language of the unheard. Even if what you say is true, it sort of supports the point rather than refuting it. These people feel as though the police aren't listening to them.

I'm not a native speaker, but I associate a riot with group violence, vandalism, looting, that kind of thing.

It was a riot.
