Here is a Google Street view right underneath the bridge

This image from Streetview, taken about halfway across the bridge, shows the scale well, I think: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.439515,-79.9004771,3a,75y,99...

What impressed me was that it looks like openstreetmap shows the bridge as down already.

Here is the location of the damaged bridge: https://www.google.com/maps/place/35%C2%B046'53.6%22N+81%C2%...

You can see it you move out to the main road which has an more recent 2023 street view image.

Great image of a couple of the bridges:

under a bridge downtown.

Picture #30: Clicking the Google Map link shows three bridges that cross the river today. The center bridge appears to be the one from the photograph.

Those stone piers are beautiful and my guess, still fully functional 100 years later.

Others can be found by following canal backwards. Check out the suspension cables on

The satellite view is helpful: https://www.google.com/maps/@37.4527175,-122.1282551,157m/da...

Southbound there isn't much room. Northbound, seems like there is space directly adjacent to the bridge.

The Google street view [December 2020] under the bridge appears to show a pair of cross braces entirely missing from one side of the main supports [0] (compared with the other side[1]).

Where does the bridge start and end? It's an embankment onto the bridge from a stroad. You're both right.

> acknowledging that the gaps between structural supports on the bridge is approximately 30 meters

Measuring a satellite image in Google Maps [1] tells me the bridge's central span is more than 300 meters.

Or under the bridge

Fairly recently a 195 gigapixel photo was taken of this bridge from a nearby building.

Both eastern spans have displayed on Google Maps for the past month or two. The traffic data was even available, just directions didn't tell you to use the new bridge yet.

This was to be the location of the bridge:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Sweetwater,+FL/@25.7618825...

You can see some remnants of the construction on street view.

Notice it's a pedestrian and not a vehicle bridge as well.

It's where you are.

There's a bridge but it was omitted for national security purposes.

Most of those photos don't do it justice, they make it look like a few meters of concrete block over a stream.

This is the only one that shows the scale: https://assets-varnish.triblive.com/2022/01/4691113_web1_ptr...
